Fortunately, I'm in the liquor biz in S.C. I have multiple bottles of all those except the George T Stagg and Pappy. I've had all of it except the George T. That's the only bottle of that to come through my doors. lol….I didn't even know what it was. I'm simple, my every day is Buffalo. Usually get a couple of cases a month now.

Seen any Disco 12 yet? Hunting that one pretty hard. No luck in NC as of yet.
Log off. Go outside.

Finally got to try the Russell's Reserve 15 and it did not disappoint. If I had a bottle of my own I'd be interested to blind taste it against the 13 and some other things, but as a stand alone, it was very good. I'm a big fan of what happens to Wild Turkey products after.10- years in the barrel.

That $250+ price tag on the RR15 is a tough pill to swallow...

Oh yeah. It'd better taste like cool liquid gold and silver, plus an orgasm thrown in for good measure for that size wad.

It is a lot. I think it should be in the $170 range for what it is. I think Wild Turkey is pricing things higher to try and slow down the secondary market on some of this stuff, though I don't think it is working necessarily. If given the opportunity, I'd probably buy one if I thought I could get it past the wife. In a would of underwhelming $100+ bottles, it at least met my expectation.

Anyone tried the newest Bookers 2024-03 yet? Heard really good things but haven't seen it yet.

Right there with you Wilm. I did a blind test with the Russell's 15 and 13 and both were so good. Like the 15 slighter.

Just made myself a refreshing cocktail of 20% Bourbon, 20% orange juice, 60% lemonade. Perfect for a mild but increasingly crisp autumn afternoon.

BIL gave me a bottle of Bookers last weekend. As I mentioned before, they've gotten so expensive I haven't bought one in a while, so interested to try it.

Just trying it now. Bookers isn't my favorite profile, but this isn't bad. After the initial taste I added a little splash of water which smoothed it out some.

"The Storyteller's Batch". I opened one back this summer when my son-in-law was here and while I'm not sophisticated enough as a bourbon drinker to know which is better than what, I do remember several other posters here mentioning that it was supposed to have been one of the better Booker's batches in a while.

It's been so long since I've had Bookers that it's hard for me to remember past batches, but I agree, this one is one of the better ones. Honestly. I like the Jim Beam 7 year that I had recently better than this though, at $60 less a bottle. Different proof, but similar flavor profile to me (which admittedly Beam isn't my favorite).

Well, I kept my promise and on Friday picked up a Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Barrel Finish Select (Onslow County ABC Barrel Pick Bottle)... thought it was a double, and got it home and found out I was wrong. 90.4%.

Well, what I was actually trying to say (and not doing a very good job of) was that I thought I was buying a bottle that I already had another one in stock, as it makes me less reluctant to open one up - and instead ended up with one I didn't have yet. I'm trying to buy 2 of the same now when I can...

I haven't read this entire thread so if this has already been exhausted please excuse me. I can't stand how the ABC stores hold all the Buffalo Trace for restaurants. It's a state run agency paid for by individual taxpaying consumers just as much as restaurants. It's ridiculous. That said, there are a few ABC stores I know of where I can buy BT for $30, one per day, because they are so rural that no restaurant people go there. Lastly. Elijah Craig is my second favorite affordable bourbon - didn't see any discussion of it early in this thread on the first few pages at least. Check it out if you haven't.

Curmudgeon.zen answered my question about Elijah Craig as follows….

"EC Rye is ok at best. Fine for cocktails. If you plan to drink it neat or on a rock, I highly recommend paying a few dollars more to pick up a Michter's Rye. You won't be sorry."

I found a bottle of the toasted EC Rye recently and I enjoyed it. Can't say I've tried the regular EC Rye but it doesn't sound like I missed out on anything.
