Just scored an ECBP and a Knob 12yr at my local shop. Not super rare or anything, but not something I generally see on the shelves here. Kind of pumped that my ****ty little local shop seems to be upping its game a bit. Good weekend ahead

Stopped in the Youngsville, ABC store today.. the nicest ABC store I have been in this state. They even have their own app
Also got a Knob Creek 12 year there today.. first time I have seen it in over a year.

Ha! Turns out the ECBP I picked up, it's the B523 batch, is NOT, in fact, a 12 yr old. Age statement on this one is 11 yrs 5 months. Seems a few of the bour*****es on the interwebs got their panties in a bunch about it not being 12 yrs old this go around. I'm assuming those folks didn't taste it first, though, cause if they had, I don't imagine there'd have been much complaining. This juice is right damn tasty. I have zero problems slumming it with this underaged ECBP. Fabulous stuff!!

Yes, I may have started a tad bit early this afternoon. Cheers, folks!!

In the process of closing on a house, so I've been drinking a lot lately, both from the stress and in an effort to have less bottles to move. Still negotiating with the fiancee as to the bar setup in the new place, apparently she doesn't want to turn the dining room into a bourbon bar. Discussions are ongoing.

I really enjoy the Mitcher's American Whiskey. I just bought my second bottle of it and would recommend.

Hampstead got their quarterly motherlode of allocated the other day... I didn't go, somebody sent me a blurry picture of it though (apparently now when the allocated comes in Pender they put it out on the checkout counter so that all can see equally)... the one that stood out to me was a row of Baker's 13 Year.

The American whiskey isn't bad for a relatively low proof whiskey. Based on their descriptions, it sounds like it's aged in used cooperage, which is why it's not a bourbon.

Just a fun story… out in Yellowstone and we saw 100s of Buffalo today so we decided to have a Buffalo trace toast. We walked out of the hotel and there was a huge bull blocking the entrance! It was fate.

Tried it side by side and the C is better imo. Really smooth and great flavor and not a harsh bite you would think for a 133 proof bourbon
