What I said about the EC Rye also goes for EC Small Batch Bourbon. Decent pour, fine for cocktails, nothing wrong with it. That said, if you plan to drink it neat or on a rock, I'd suggest spending a few extra bucks and grabbing a Michter's Small Batch Bourbon instead. IMO, it's a big step up in the quality of the juice for a really minimal step up in price. Tastes are subjective, though, so really the best advice I can give is try 'em all, find bottles you like, drink 'em the way you like 'em with people you like. I haven't read this entire thread so if this has already been exhausted please excuse me. I can't stand how the ABC stores hold all the Buffalo Trace for restaurants. It's a state run agency paid for by individual taxpaying consumers just as much as restaurants. It's ridiculous. That said, there are a few ABC stores I know of where I can buy BT for $30, one per day, because they are so rural that no restaurant people go there. Lastly. Elijah Craig is my second favorite affordable bourbon - didn't see any discussion of it early in this thread on the first few pages at least. Check it out if you haven't.
