Harris wasn't historically unlikeable; she wasn't even more unlikeable than her opponent this year.

Her favorability ratings were higher than Clinton and Trump in 2016 and also higher than Trump in 2024.

And what does the Dem candidate have to do with whether or not there are riots? It doesn't matter how likable or unlikable candidates are. The only thing that matters is who gets more votes.

Trump won, Harris lost. Harris conceded. That's the way our democracy is supposed to work, and it's the way it did work for 240 years until 2020.

No, the filibuster as it has been dramatically overused in the modern era is a scam that ensures the only laws of consequence the Senate can pass must go through "reconciliation", which gets around the filibuster. Every other democracy on Earth somehow survives without the filibuster.

That means that if Republicans leave it in place you can guarantee that the only legislation that will get passed this session is another rich guy tax cut added to the deficit.

So unless Trump finds a way to burn the system down and turn us into Hungary, his presidency will once again come down to how much havoc he can create and how much he can grift with his executive power. In other words, mostly a reality show that lines his pockets.
