Of course it is. But the ncgop is under the thumb of the gop house and senate caucuses and their priorities aren't those of the rank-and-file conservatives. They've worked hard to make sure an actual grassroots, real deal conservative never occupies the state chairmanship since they railroaded Hasan Harnett out of the job back in 2016, because they have no intention of being accountable to the people of their party.

so it's a foregone conclusion that NC will never have a conservative governor
Never say never. It's just that as long as they have a legislative supermajority, they don't have any special need for a gop Governor. Which is stupid because I'm predicting they'll lose the super this year.
