Eric Staal has signed a one-day contract to retire as a member of the #Canes, and within the agreement, he was informed that his jersey number would be retired at a game to be announced this season.

Struck and killed by a drunk driver back home in New Jersey while home for their sister's wedding. Truly a tragedy, the league lost a great player and person.

I know this is cold but it's how the business side of my brain works. I would be on the phone with Waddell and trying to unload KK for a bag of pucks. Columbus is going to have to regroup and I'd at least try to sneak him in as a serviceable LW.
