Boys will still be boys....post busch race last night with entertainment by Ty Gibbs and Sam Mayer

Grandaddy taught Ty the proper lesson to keep your helmet on. Boy has a nice overhand right, too.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Looks like Mayer was the one talking **** so he go hit. I'm really impressed with Ty Gibbs. That kid is a superstar in the making. Hell of a driver.

It's funny though, they were bracing themselves to the fact that they were gonna get spun out at the end. It's all they talked about in the interviews during the red flag.
Bell Tower Grey
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yep. Mayer deserved that ass whipping.

These boys are learning what racing at Martinsville is all about. Can't wait to see them get to Bristol and what might happen with Gibbs / Mayer there. Fun times!

Man...ya'll watched a different race than me. Ty is the one who jumped out and went up to Sam running his mouth first. And then wouldn't take his helmet off. Where I come from...we got a name for that and it's not flattering. As well, Ty is *****ing about literally what he did last week to another competitor.

He may be a p ussy for not taking his helmet off, but it seems like he was a smart p ussy, at least last night. Sam had a pretty good shiner working.

Honestly. That race sucked.

There wasn't a single pass for the lead all race LOL. That's crazy.

Especially on a short track. Teams still have a lot of work to do figuring out the new car.

Agree. I expect the fall race to be better.

Think the cold was a factor? They were talking about how there wasn't much rubber on the track last night. Basically had to stay low.

i think so, i noticed it would take Blaney 50-60 laps till he could start passing someone, i dont know if they have diff tire compounds for diff tracks like F1.

i was in turn 1-2 and froze my ass off, hopefully they make some adjustments for the fall race and get a tire that degrades more

Yeah, that was not a race to market to draw fans in in this era of "all action all the time" sports fans.

That said, 2 of my sons went with a group of guys to the race, and despite the cold weather, had a blast. They wanna do Darlington now. No way Darlington goes an entire race with just one banging of the wall.

Ha…agree. We always enjoy going to Martinsville….sometimes that spring race can lack action.

.@FS1 earned a 1.10 rating and 1.885 million viewers for Saturday night's @NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville; no direct comparison as the comparable events there in recent years were all on other days of the week.

For the year, NASCAR is up 17% from '21 (4.454M average).

The crowd at Bristol Dirt this Sunday is tracking to be the best for a spring NASCAR Cup race at the venue in several races going by ticket sales, per source familiar.

NASCAR is really going to lean into the gimmicks if the sales back them up.

Hopefully, I'll be a bigger fan of the dirt race this time around... last year it just didn't really do anything for me.

I remember when I was young, my dad took my brother and me to Wake County Speedway. Back then, it was a dirt track. I remember being so dirty after the race from the dust that kicked up. I have no interest in ever going to Bristol for the dirt race.

I've been to Bristol once (night race) back in the 90's and really didn't see the hype that was going on at the time…. Never been back. It's better on TV.
