A now-deleted Facebook post by a staffer of Mississippi's lone Democrat congressman appeared to support the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday.
The deleted post by Jacqueline Marsaw, a field director for U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Mississippi, said "I don't condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don't miss next time ooops [sic] that wasn't me talking."
Anyone, no matter what party affiliation, should be fired immediately and held accountable for any such comments like this staffer above. This along with hundreds of other comments over the past few years are totally deplorable and have driven the country to where it is today.
Pelosi, Biden, most media have relentlessly attacked Trump and said things that would normally cause the person to be arrested and released from their position. To allow this to continue with no recourse is a missed opportunity to hold folks accountable. When you keep letting the comments happen, well....this is what you get.
Pelosi and Harris have both been targeted as well if you'll recall.
Yes, there have been attacks on both sides. I mentioned that first....it needs to stop all around.
I will say for me personally, Pelosi tearing up her copy of Trump's State of the Union speech on national TV was a truly deplorable moment in American history. You don't have to agree with an individual but someone in her position should be able to control themselves and not act in such a childish manner in front of the world for all to see. To me, her doing that told others it was ok to act out and say/do whatever you want to and nothing will be done to reprimand you.
Ultimately, to me there are two major lessons out of this:
1) there needs to be a complete review of SS practices, including hiring/training and assigning agents, in to how an elevated position concise by was left unsecured
2) discourse needs to be evolved. This is not a political statement. It is a human one. Both parties, the mainstream media that supports them, the social media sites, and other outlets of influence need to realize the impact the continual barrage of garbage they spew forth has an impact
On this site, we have mentions of civil war now (if I were owners, I'd suspend those folks immediately because I don't meet my site linked to those kind of hate mongers).
Twitter is awash today with progressives who, while maybe not advocating, are strongly justifying the action.
Both of these perspectives are perverse and destructive.
And both are common from both parties (amd the media)
