The Nos. 1, 3, and 23 teams have been penalized for violating the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct at @MartinsvilleSwy.

The crew chief and spotter of each car, as well as a team executive from each organization, have been suspended for this weekend's race in Phoenix.
Not surprising.
And with it being the last race of the year and essentially a "non-points" race for those teams, this means absolutely nothing... I thought that overall there would be more teeth in whatever they did - but I didn't feel driver suspensions would happen initially, and they didn't.

I'd love to hear all the radio transmissions they reviewed, because I'm still trying to figure out how Chastain's team got nailed. There had to have been something more than what was disclosed during the telecast.

I don't think this is a deterrent whatsoever. And ensures it will happen again. CC and comp directors can easily call races from home these days. Not much deterrent at all.
Heck, the war rooms have instant information right in front of the CC.

Listening to Dale Jr's podcast he was of belief that parking the entire team for the weekend might be what was needed. But he even hinted that might not be enough .

That being said! Who's your pick for Saturday and Sunday?

XFinity:

Austin Hill
AJ Allmendinger
Cole Custer
Justin Allegair

Cup Series:

Ryan Blaney
Joey Logano
William Byron
Tyler Reddick

I'm going with Cole Custer and Ryan Blaney. Then Hill and something is telling me to watch out for Reddick. But we all know Logano will win.

The OEMs rule the day. So I don't see it happening.

I want Byron of course - but it's going to be Blaney.

Byron has a shot, his only problem has been consistency. My favorite to win is the 22, he won't have the fastest car but he also won't make the mistakes like others will.

what is stupid AF to me it's just gonna be whichever has the fastest car sunday. That'll likely be your champ. No scenarios other than highest finisher wins it all. I really really really wish the final round was 3 or 4 final races combined points. It's so ironic that they keep trying to re-do 1992 over and over but Kulwicki never woulda been champ under current format. Probably not even close.

At this point I just watch the race and the Championship is secondary.

It's going to be a long 3 months. Are you going to try to go to Bowman-Gray? Isn't that the next Clash?

Naw with Bowmen-Gray. And yes, after Sunday not a lot to do. And yes, the Clash is at Bowmen this year.

U.S. District Court Judge Frank Whitney: "Although plaintiffs have alleged that they will face a risk of irreparable harm, they have not sufficiently alleged present, immediate, urgent irreparable harm, but rather only speculative possible harm."

Just curious, but you don't remember them first-hand do you? Because I sure can't - and my dad had us listening to NASCAR on the radio back then, as long as we were where a radio could be listened to. lol.

They were before my time. They were a force at one time winning 48 of 55 races in 1965, a record that still stands. As a Ford guy I've always been impressed with them. In fact I think they still make vintage parts, I also want stay that during the 50's-70's they built most if not all Ford's racing cars.

I can remember the days of them. Same with Cotton Owen's. The days when another Gordon drove the #24. Cecil Gordon. When Richard Childers drove the #3.

Have spent a lot of time with Justin and was part of bringing the Brandt deal into the sport. Some great people all around. Very happy for all that group

I've never met Justin but I'm glad to see that he won. Seems like a good guy.

Also, Brad is saying it out loud.

, along with Michael Jordan the co-owner of 23XI Racing, for the first time is not guaranteeing their team will field cars at the start of the next season.

There is a clause in the new charter agreements that begin next season that teams cannot sue NASCAR, and both teams asked this week in court for it to be waived and for the teams to be chartered as they proceed with their suit.

Both 23XI and Front Row field two cars each and have entered into purchase agreements to acquire a third charter per organization from Stewart-Haas Racing. They've insisted they will compete next year no matter what, even as "open" teams that lack the protections of chartered teams.

Non-chartered teams do not receive the same amount of revenue and are not guaranteed a spot in all 38 races. The teams have argued that if they are not chartered, their sponsors and drivers can leave because they aren't assured spots in every Sprint Cup race.

100%. I'm just a couple of years younger than you, but when I was a kid and rooted for Petty (you pulled who your dad pulled for), I liked the Allison Brothers as well - just not as much. The fight between Donnie and Cale at Daytona with Bobby stopping as well... I can still see the Miller High Life (#12) I think it was flying upside down into the catch fence at Talladega (the precursor to the restrictor plate).

Hate to see him go.

Starting not to be any of them left anymore here real soon.

Haha, my dad pulled for David Pearson when I was young. I was all team Petty. He won the very first race I went to. Rockingham 1967. After Pearson retired dad went with Bill Elliott. When Petty retired I went with Earnhardt. I thought my dad was literally going to disown me.
