The Nos. 1, 3, and 23 teams have been penalized for violating the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct at @MartinsvilleSwy.

The crew chief and spotter of each car, as well as a team executive from each organization, have been suspended for this weekend's race in Phoenix.
Not surprising.
And with it being the last race of the year and essentially a "non-points" race for those teams, this means absolutely nothing... I thought that overall there would be more teeth in whatever they did - but I didn't feel driver suspensions would happen initially, and they didn't.

I'd love to hear all the radio transmissions they reviewed, because I'm still trying to figure out how Chastain's team got nailed. There had to have been something more than what was disclosed during the telecast.

I don't think this is a deterrent whatsoever. And ensures it will happen again. CC and comp directors can easily call races from home these days. Not much deterrent at all.
Heck, the war rooms have instant information right in front of the CC.

Listening to Dale Jr's podcast he was of belief that parking the entire team for the weekend might be what was needed. But he even hinted that might not be enough .

That being said! Who's your pick for Saturday and Sunday?

XFinity:

Austin Hill
AJ Allmendinger
Cole Custer
Justin Allegair

Cup Series:

Ryan Blaney
Joey Logano
William Byron
Tyler Reddick

I'm going with Cole Custer and Ryan Blaney. Then Hill and something is telling me to watch out for Reddick. But we all know Logano will win.

The OEMs rule the day. So I don't see it happening.

I want Byron of course - but it's going to be Blaney.

Byron has a shot, his only problem has been consistency. My favorite to win is the 22, he won't have the fastest car but he also won't make the mistakes like others will.

what is stupid AF to me it's just gonna be whichever has the fastest car sunday. That'll likely be your champ. No scenarios other than highest finisher wins it all. I really really really wish the final round was 3 or 4 final races combined points. It's so ironic that they keep trying to re-do 1992 over and over but Kulwicki never woulda been champ under current format. Probably not even close.

At this point I just watch the race and the Championship is secondary.
