Fords tend to do well at long tracks like Talladeger. I'm going to pick Brad Keselowski to win this weekend. He was strong yesterday and I believe he still wants to win.

Oh well; close. Miracle Brad didn't crash when McDowell cut right in front of him. I'm going to guess that Ford factory might have a chat with him tomorrow. Fords could have finished 1-2.

UPDATE: Following his release from the infield care center,

returned to the care center at
@TALLADEGA
and has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

I edited my post here, looks like Eric was released from the hospital.

While they couldn't bring themselves to say it on the broadcast, that wreck was 100% on McDowell... bush league move.

The 34 blocked till he couldn't. I guess he thought he had at most a 20 percent chance of that working out and said why not? Took out a lot of cars.

He had no chance to cover Kes at that point... I only wished that Brad had just gone ahead and punted him into the wall when he impeded him up high to start with.

That **** that Logano did earlier in the race was dangerous as **** as well.

Although SVG finished 28th, he was in the roughly P9 to P13 a lot of the race. Not bad for someone with essentially no experience on superspeedways.

So your argument is Denny or Truex or Elliot would just have allowed the pass?
That likely was McDowells only ticket into the playoffs. Perhaps if he was safely in he would have played the points (and financial loss) game?

Unfortunately that's the box these drivers are put in. The 34 may not have another chance.

No. The argument is that he had zero chance to cover that move.

I'd say the same thing if it was William Byron.

But instead he caused a huge wreck that ruined the race for a lot more drivers than just himself.

At one time, he was leading a third line charge towards the front... I don't think that it was the same one that Ty Gibbs killed off towards the end, but I could be wrong.
