Interestingly, in comments to Raleigh Sports Club last Wednesday, Avent was talking about needing a "new stadium", and NOT talking about renovations or improvements to Doak. So maybe the vision has changed? Can't see them getting Wake County hotel tax $$ for an off campus baseball facility, particularly in light of publicly funded USA Baseball facility in Cary. And under current environmental regulations, I know of no site on Centennial Campus that will not run afoul of current buffer rules without really expensive stormwater controls.
