42 Days until the home opener. Field looks great, but seems they still have a lot to do on the project. But a lot can happen in that time.

With rockets landing themselves on the regular, you simply can't convince me there's no way to get those seats covered.

Three things we can do to make this a minimum viable product D1 facility: finish the remodeled grass berm and beer tent down the third base line, replace the embarrassing eyesore press box that defines Lee Fowler's legacy - replacing with an elevated press box and premium seating area that sits above the concourse, and erect a large awning that covers the seating. Do these three things and we'll be set for 30-40 years.

The work completed so far looks good. Definite improvement.

Agreed. Especially on the press box. That pitiful thing is so embarrassing and really drags down the overall "vibe" of the entire facility, and makes it look like a glorified high school stadium.

Agreed, and I would like to see them add a few rows of premium seating behind home plate, bringing the seats a little closer to field level.

We barely raised enough money to do the current renovations. But I agree the 2004 upgrade was outdated as soon as the architect submitted the drawings

Anyone been by there lately to check on the status? The season starts in just a few weeks, and the team could surely benefit from being able to work out inside the new facility. But I am guessing it is a month or more away from opening yet.

We need someone with access to the inside to take a few photos. I would think that the changes to the outside are more cosmetic at this point.

Since no more videos or social media posts have been released, I'm guessing the new concession area will not be ready for the home opener? Anyone know?

As you may be aware, Doak Field is currently undergoing a major enhancement project. We are still working on putting the final touches on the stadium and will provide updates as they become available."

The new tiered high tops located field level in the new area down the 1st base line looked really nice. I wanted to go down and take a look, but was told by an attendant that is a 'VIP area' and that it is sold out for the season. Anyone know anything about this area?

It's a very limited area, email went out a few weeks back to top level WPC season ticket donors. They required you to buy a minimum of four seats and that those tickets must be scanned 80% of games or they will forfeit the right to those seats.

Wow, requiring a min of four seats w/ 80% usage rate seems extreme to me!

If they are already sold out. The demand must be there. That's awesome. I love the 80% usage rate. Wish there was something to enforce attendance for the basketball corporate seats.
