Escalating materials costs and supply chain delays aren't an issue in Louisiana apparently

Well they killed the grass in the infield so they have to spend unnecessary $ there. SMDH

Hearing lots of previous season ticket holders didn't get tickets this year. $20M in renovations and no additional seats. Perhaps it is time to reimagine what is really possible here at NC State for our baseball program!

I added a seat to mine for my 1 year old and I was moved down closer to the hill. Was a little worried that I would lose my tickets. I'm at 3 total now.

Not what I was told by the Wolfpack Club. Not saying you are wrong.

My group has had season tickets for several years and were moved from section 11 to sections 12 and 13. We were told it was due to increased season ticket sales. We moved up in ranking from last year, so I'm not sure what else would've caused that.

I'm just referencing a number of posts on Wolfpack groups on Facebook saying they didn't have their tickets renewed. One guy said he gave an extra $1,000 this year and still didn't get his.

Wow! Guess I will stop complaining about my seats being moved 2 sections.

Ditto.
Last year I was moved from 12 to 11.
This year I was moved back to 12.
I'm confident ticket sales have gone up.

Duke Athletics, in collaboration with LeChase Construction and EwingCole Architecture, has announced a phased enhancement plan for Jack Coombs Field, home of the Blue Devils baseball team.

The first phase began on Aug. 12, 2024, and will include new dugouts, an updated playing field with new dimensions, new bullpen, outdoor hitting facility, and group hospitality areas behind the outfield fence, upgraded tiered lawn seating on the first base line, a new player development lab/indoor training facility, and upgraded facility lighting and player development technology. Ongoing fundraising for the project will prioritize a player clubhouse and coaches' office building, an improved entry plaza and gate, additional restrooms, concession/hospitality areas, and broadcast/media space.

Honestly, what's the point in posting every other colleges baseball facility improvements? I come on this thread to see what's going on with Doak and every other post is someone else's facility. I can't speak for everyone but it's pretty tiring. Most of us don't care what everyone else is building.

Gotta fill this thread with something. Nothing going on with Doak.

Sad but true. So what happened to that 15 mill or whatever that was raised? I know the playing surface didn't cost that much.

Some people expect the new facilities to pop up overnight for whatever reason. Not exactly how the real world works.

Some of us know that but um Duke is working very hard on theirs and showing progress but the doak not so much

I don't. Just would like to have an update on the progress that is being made.

Pretty sure the last update was that phase two was going to be pushed back to next year, so there probably won't be any updates until next year when those hopefully begin. I suppose someone could provide an update as to whether or not that is still the case.

But what's the point of posting every other school in the countries facility upgrades? Is it just to show how inept we are?

The way Avent and our baseball program have been treated with regard to facilities is criminal.

Just finished browsing through the recent comments on some of the Doak Field renovation news - or lack thereof. I only intermittently visit IPS, but mainly visit for baseball news - so this is a long post - and definitely a bit of a rant.

I get that it sounds like some delays were encountered that pushed the timeline back to where they're now hoping to have completion of the improvements down the LF line by the start of the 2026 season. That's what was indicated in the WPC email from earlier this year, but that's the only real update that's been provided on this since before the start of the 2023 season.

Based on what was announced in Jan 2022 for the first 3 phases, the total cost was supposed to be $15M - and anything raised in excess of that could potentially be allocated to future phases that would have to be added. At this point, we're 2.5 years past that. The funding tracker on the website sat at $14.7M raised for over a year and only recently has been updated to funding being 100% completed at $15M. We don't know if we raised exactly $15M - or more than that, if the costs ballooned to a point where we needed additional funding to complete the initial plans, if anything of note will be done before the 2025 season, etc. And aside from a simple QR code on the back of the press box, we didn't even promote the renovations with any kind of virtual or physical advertising at games during the 2024 season - or across the athletic department's social media pages. IMO, emails with a link to the Doak donation page should've been in everyone's inboxes at multiple points during the 2024 season and CWS run.

It's wild to me that we can't just sit an intern in front of a computer for 2 hours to write something up on GoPack.com that simply says: (1) here's what the initial plan was, (2) here's why that hasn't happened yet, (3) here's the current plan, (4) here's our new estimated timeline, and (5) here's where the project's overall funding stands. When asked about a status on the project earlier this summer, Boo's response was just that "dirt was moving".

People willingly donated their $ to this project - and plenty of others were locked into donating through their season ticket purchases. Delays happen, that's fine. Just communicate that to your donors. Why would anyone feel excited about giving their $ to this project - or any other capital project - when State cannot even provide the donors/fanbase any tangible updates over a 2.5+ period?

Yow (tried) royally f'd up our baseball program. Shoutout to Avent and staff for keeping us competitive, and then some, but all of this should have been done 10 years ago.
