I know that is big for JMS. Congrats.
The look and emotion from Jr. last night when they knew they were in was fantastic.
Agree, pretty cool to see. They are in so anything can happen now.

Agree, was pulling for that team to make it in. He was in the back going into the last lap but they put together a string of cars on the outside and it helped him make his way to the front, enough to edge out Yeley.

Loved watching Jr and his reaction.....that guy genuinely loves the sport.

Agree, Jr loves the sport and also gives back.

Dude can't catch a break.

That sucks for Kligerman....he seems to be a good dude. These post-race inspections can be tricky after a long race, especially ride height. Parts do mechanically fail sometimes and it bites you. They are appealing the decision but we all know how that normally turns out.

Wishing Parker the best of luck.

I hate it for him as well.

New to NASCAR? Prep for the Daytona 500 with our cheat sheet

https://www.espn.com/racing/nascar/story/_/id/43843424/new-nascar-prep-daytona-500-our-great-american-race-cheat-sheet
Thanks for this. Trying my best to get into Nascar as I love Indycar/F1, but the bug hasnt hit me yet. I feel like if I could understand it (strategy mainly), it would stick.

Plan on watching Sunday while doing my usual Sunday cooking, looking forward to it
For some, it's a OEM, for others a driver. Start from there. One other thing, don't get too caught up with rules and such, just take it in. Finally, not sure where you live but find a local asphalt track and watch some late mods. Hope you stick with it, NASCAR is a great sport. BTW, what you cooking?
Its usually drivers for me. I dont have any allegiances in Indy/F1, so I usually root for chaos, which is natural in racing.

Doing beef stew on Sunday with the cold weather coming next week

For anyone who wants to get a better understanding of rules and just some of the in and outs of NASCAR, there is a new podcast that is out. I gave it a try and it's pretty good listen.

@NASCAR is focusing on growing its @YouTube page this year, per EVP @TimClark3: "We're happy with some of the progress we've made on YouTube, but I think we would acknowledge that we're not where we think we could be."

NASCAR has 1.35 million subscribers on the platform

Call me crazy but I've always enjoyed watching the ARCA series cars run.

It's been something to say the least. There has been a couple nasty hits to the wall.

I like the ARCA cars, just seems like there isn't much talent like in years past. Don't get me wrong, they didn't get this far without some sort of talent but money and agendas have gotten most of them here.

They haven't been able to run more than 3 to 5 laps without wrecking through the first 45 laps. Hope they can get it figured out and get some good racing in the last half of this race.

Also never been a fan of the ARCA cars at Daytona. Like to watch them at the 1.5 mile and shorter tracks.

But, even though it sounds like it, I'm not complaining. I'm glad to see cars on the tracks again....watched just about every practice, qualifying and race thus far.

Some of these drivers probably shouldn't be racing here, skill and car wise. But you will never learn unless you race at this place.

A lot of truth in that post. Good race the last 15 laps or so.

Watched Butterbean quite a bit over the years in the late models.

I agree! Unfortunately, I had to quit watching with 20 laps tonight. What I did see, I thought was a great race. And… unfortunately, with the time change tomorrow, I'm going to miss most of the 500.

Hate to hear that. I think today's 500 is going to be a good one, I hope the rain stays away.

NASCAR has received a formal submission from a manufacturer aiming to join Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota in the [Truck] series next year. According to sources, Dodge is the leading candidate to return to the sport.

Ahead of the Daytona 500, @jaybusbee spoke to AA's @AndrewBucholtz on why the "Home Turn" special he did with NASCAR Studios and Bluefoot Entertainment started with that track. "The story is so interwoven in the history of NASCAR itself.

I'd expect a new body for the trucks if this happens. Also, makes sense for Dodge, as they wouldn't have to come up with a power plant.
