Some news, I guess.

Some off season news, heard over the weekend, that the inspection, ( pre race ) for the Clash will take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The haulers will then have tamper proof seal placed on them, before the drive to Bowmen Gray. Not enough room at the Clash for all the haulers plus NASCAR's inspection tents.

That's interesting, never thought about what they would do with the haulers. Bowman Gray is a dang neat place to watch a race. If you've never been to a weekly race there, check one out next year. Excellent racing and fans are wild.

I need to go one day. There are a lot of haulers, that folks never see on tv. Heck, Champion has God knows how many?

Haulers to bring the cars. Haulers to bring pit boxes. Haulers for souvenir row.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

U.S. District Court Judge Kenneth Bell revealed in his filing today granting 23XI and Front Row a preliminary injunction for 2025 that "driver Bubba Wallace informed 23XI that he needs to know how it intends to compete 'immediately' so that he can explore seats with other teams."

I don't blame any of those drivers, what a mess. After reading a little bit more, looks like the teams can run as charter members while the case is going on.

I hate to be the one to say it, but that "race" is going to suck. Clash at the Coliseum again, just at a different venue.

I agree. I don't think the actual racing will be all that exciting.

I don't either. I've been there for some weekly races, it's one of the best experiences you could have. Between the fans and the battling on the track, it's a great atmosphere.

However, the type of racing you see during the weekly races doesn't translate to the Cup level. There is wreck after wreck and the fans go wild as their favorite plows into the side of his rival and tears the bumper off. Just not going to see that emotion during the Clash, only the wrecks.

You make some really good points, two completely different style of racing. I wasn't a big fan of the Clash in LA, and this seems like the same thing just a different track. But, at the end of the day, it's a none points race.

Mostly will be a game of "Follow the Leader".

I was shocked when I saw those pictures you posted showing how skinny those straightaways and corner entries were...

Very tight, about the only " passing line " will be the corners, at best.

It's definitely tight around there. Here are some pictures from a couple of different races last year, from different viewing points. You notice the red and white guardrail has been removed and the safer barrier has been installed, as seen in the post above.

I really believe this will be a fun race. Looking at those photos made me go look and see what is happening at Southern National. I miss going there. I never did make it to Wake County this year.

Not sure where you live, but you need to make a race at Wake County, Charlie and Mr. Brown have done a great job of cleaning the place up, I wanna say they are currently putting in a digital scoring board.

I live up near Wake Forest. WCS is an easy drive I just always forget. SNS seems to have a limited special event calendar from checking out their website. Last time I went there they were running what was called the Hooters Cup Series. There were some really good Late Model racing back then

So it has been a minute. Agree about SNS having a limited event. We love WCS, and hardly ever miss a Friday night there. You should make a trip down this way.

Y'all are correct regarding Southern National. They still have races there but the schedule has tapered off the last few years to only a handful of events. The Thanksgiving Classic is still a big event and they've hosted a few Cars Tour late model events. But, the seasonal racing has basically dwindled to nothing.

Wake County is always fun.

Another good venue is New River All American in Jacksonville. I know it's a few hours for you guys but some good racing. The Cars Tour will be back there in March. That's always a good race.

And if you are free January 4th and 5th, Dillon Motor Speedway puts on a good show with their New Years Bash....some good racing there too.

Now that you mention it, I forgot about the Cars Tour running at SNS. Do you know if it's car count or is it a promotion thing with SNS?

Ownership. Dude puts it out there that he's trying so hard to get racers to come but the bottom line is he's just an ass and people don't like going there.
