One of the better 1.5 mile tracks they go to. Should be a good one.

Been a decent race so far. Some folks have had tire problems.

I've said it all year. If Kyle Busch didn't have any bad luck, he wouldn't have any at all.

On to the wild card, Talladega.

Good racing to watch, and of course I was pulling for Byron there at the end but Chastain drove a great race and deserved to win. I was happy to see it for him.

I was hoping that the 24 would catch the 1. Overall I'd say the race was pretty good.

Apropos that NASCAR is at Talladega the week that we learn of two teams filing an antitrust suit vs the sanctioning body. 55 years ago the superstars of the sport organized a union and walked out of Talladega over safety concerns. Bill France Sr. ran the race without them.

I have a feeling that some of the points leaders are going to do a lot of riding in the back for the first 2/3 of this race... only other solid option is to be in the very front and hope you don't have an idiot in line behind you.

Yup, and keep your fingers crossed. I think the end of stages will be wild, lot of people needing points.

Didn't Hamlin try that at Daytona in August. Seem to remember it biting him in the rear quarter panel (Butt)

He did try that and got caught up in a wreak and finished I think 23rd.

I think I remember Byron doing it at Talladega in the spring... him and Hamlin are the main candidates to do that today again in my mind. Although, if Denny can run in the front row and stay there for a while, then he'll stick with running up front. I seem to remember it not working out for Byron when he did it either... but if you are running at the end today and haven't been wrecked yet, that's almost an automatic top 15 at that point.

Usually.

Then Suarez almost takes out Byron anyway... geez.
