Truex had em covered. The lights at Martinsville look great. Might try to go in the Fall if it is a night race. These Wednesday evening races are a lot of fun to watch.

Really fun race. Not as many cautions as I expected. I'm back at Mville as soon as fans are allowed.

Long runs last night, which I didn't think would happen. Glad the rain stayed away.

Overnight ratings for last night's NASCAR Cup race from Martinsville on FS1 are up +104% over the comparable race last season.

Last night's race, the 11th of this NASCAR season, posted a 1.14, compared to a 0.56 for last year's 11th race (Dover, 5/6/19 on FS1)

The race is also up +16% over the most recent weeknight NASCAR race on FS1 (0.98 on 5/28)

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a plan for Saturday, one unlike any other he's had in more than two decades of getting behind the wheel at NASCAR events.

He's going to fly to Homestead-Miami Speedway and arrive in the early afternoon. He'll go through a health screening, then sit in a rental car instead of the custom RV that usually serves as his home away from home on race days. He'll change into driver gear, hop into his race car about 10 minutes before the flag drops and, without the benefit of any practice, hope for the best.

Welcome to pandemic-era racing, Junior.

He's in the field for one of the two Xfinity Series races at Homestead this weekend, his third start in an Xfinity car since retiring.

Denny Hamlin snooze fest. Really impressed with Tyler Reddick's run last night. Lot of young talent in NASCAR right now.

as a casual NASCAR fan I was surprised how few drivers I knew by name this season.

Even moreso, as a guy who grew up watching (and even listening on the radio) all the races, I agree wholeheartedly.

Also, while the sport has this tremendous opportunity to have all sports-fans eyes on it, it should have avoided the 1 1/2 mile tracks. Those are so boring. The weather aside, I can't imagine yesterday's race sustaining new fans to the sport.

.@NASCAR is considering moving numbers to the rear quarter panel of the car for next month's All-Star Race, as a first-time experiment for the Cup Series, per sources.

NASCAR's K&N Series started experimenting with this in 2017 to see if it gives sponsors better branding.

Man, I agree with you. Hate the mile and a half tracks. Same half dozen drivers dominate at all of those tracks.

And its not just that its the same cars....but they all get spread out within 2 laps. Even a G-W-C finish is often not entertaining.

Thats a good one . I can only imagine the drama that would unfold if they brought 2. There would be more action on pit road than on the track. lmao.
