.@NASCAR's review with teams of the potential number switch is in the final stages, and barring a late change, it's likely that the decal will be moved, specifically forward, starting next season, per sources.

Is this a Gibbs as in Coach Gibbs? I guess one of his grandsons?

He can. It is going to be fun watching the cup racing between Harrison Burton and him in the next few years.ncsupack1 said:Bell Tower Grey said:Yes.Packchem91 said:caryking said:The kid is good, I think.. or, is it that the 54 car is awesome?Wolfer79 said:

Kid can drive.
Technology has undoubtedly improved the ability of the driver to command the car. Still, the driver has to have the senses to understand what is going on around him and make the right moves at the right time. No one to my knowledge, besides Dale, has ever been able to "see air" and make things happen.MayorStoner said:
I just question how hard it is to drive these race cars now a days when a guy can hop right in and dominate. I dont think Ty Gibbs would have been able to do what he is doing now if it had been, say 1991 or so....those cars were so much harder looking to drive. Look at the in-cars and how much they had to work the steering wheel compared to now. The learning curve was much steeper back then; drivers didnt just hop right in and dominate.
well when Ty Norris tells it, he said Dale didnt say he could see the air, but that he could feel the air...which is why he preferred the open face helmet.Bell Tower Grey said:Technology has undoubtedly improved the ability of the driver to command the car. yea but compared to the 90's, just before this high downforce era, I just dont think it looks as difficult from the in cars. Not saying it isnt hard, just not as difficult as it once was...or at least appears that way to me.ncsupack1 said:
Hard. It's not easy, no matter how good the equipment is.
