SRX today is announcing that Chase Elliott will take part in its season finale event July 17th at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.

It will be the first time a current full-time NASCAR Cup driver has raced in SRX and second time he's ever raced with his dad, Bill Elliott. https://t.co/MzQRxd3czM

.@NBC scored a 1.79 rating and 3.078 million viewers for Sunday's NASCAR Cup race at Road America.

Last year's 4th of July race was the Brickyard 400, which got a 2.7 rating/4.343 million.

HUT levels were down big last weekend YOY as Americans went out for the holiday. https://t.co/PsPYRPwOcz

Atlanta Motor Speedway today is announcing that it is changing its track profile from the current 24-degree banking in turns to 28 degrees, and making the track narrower by decreasing width from 55 feet to 40. https://t.co/vFUXZeYHbS
This appears to be a positive change for good racing. I'm a big fan of higher banked tracks. I'm not sure about the narrowing...

I don't recall if ATL was ever the best racing.....I know there were some good finishes there several times, but can't recall if those were natural, or result of the late-race cautions. What is more troubling for NASCAR viewing is that the two tracks you could always count on to produce bang-em-up entertainment --- Bristol and Richmond -- have been very mundane the last several years.
Bristol night race used to be must-see racing.

I'll wait and see what happens at Atlanta. I'll give them credit for trying something different.

This weekend at @amsupdates NASCAR driver @landoncassill will be riding in the #4 car sponsored by @investvoyager. It's the first time a NASCAR primary sponsorship has been paid fully in cryptocurrencies.

He's run this scheme previously at Nashville and Road America also!

@NASCAR has struck a deal with @NBCUniversal and @USA_Network to green-light a new docu-series revolving around this year's Cup Series playoffs.

The series will be called "Race for the Championship," be stretched over eight episodes on USA Network and debut in 2022. https://t.co/kgZhfeWw5b

Interesting....i wonder which drivers they'll focus on as the dynamic, entertaining personality guys? That seems to be a missing ingredient today. I loved Bill Elliot -- he was my guy when I was growing up (he and Buddy Baker).
Elliot was a hoot, not just because of his accent.

So by default I like his son....but he's boring as paint drying to hear talk. Not his fault....but its difficult to gather interest in the guy outside those already inclined to like him.

But I'm not sure who those guys really are today? I don't really know several of the new guys, but the formula for all the new guys seems to be extremely vanilla?

Stenhouse probably got post Danica excited learning about the track narrowing. Gives him more opportunity, sooner, to take folks out.

Four overtimes. Austin Hill wins. Bunch of folks pissed at the end. Cody Rorhbaugh # 9, got bumped by a couple of drivers on the post race laps to the garage. He may be in line to take an ass whipping the next race or two.

I wanted to go to bed, but like all bad wrecks, just had to watch.

Agree! Atlanta has become a snooze fest for me... the track fall off, since the paving, has hurt the fun factor of the track. It used to be fast, fast, fast! Not anymore...

Welp, the excitement for the new track configuration builds since Stenhouse has already been involved with Suarez in a crash today.... I bet he is awesome playing whack a mole at the fair, with all the banging he has to do.

I thought there was some good racing between the Busch brothers at the end. Wish Kyle would've had enough for a final push to make it interesting at the end but happy for Kurt.

If you watch some of the Dale Jr podcast (on YouTube), one would thing Kurt Busch is the most hated person in Nascar, well, at least the videos with Jimmy Spencer. I thought it was great to see him get the crowd appreciation he received...

After the episode he had with Jerry Punch he was easily the guy I despised the most. It seems since then that Busch took it down a few notches.

Might have something to do with how the "NASCAR family" rallied around him a few years ago when he was trying to get out of that ill-advised relationship with that psycho woman.
