Trump doesn't have a damn thing to do with these things, other than the fact that he simply exists as President. They media/Democrats and their constant stoking of the fires combined with their hatred of Trump has done that, almost 100%.
...
So yeah, Trump says stupid things. He's not a "think on your feet" kind of guy. I personally don't like him and didn't vote for him. However, I can damn well see the orchestrated, constant attack that's been going on against him for the last 4 years as plain as day.
It's all been an attempt to make him look bad, to make him less effective, and to win 2020. No more, no less.
They don't give a damn about these riots. They revel in them. It's more fuel for the fire. They WANT them to continue, so they can keep reporting how bad things are. Same with Covid. The press didn't cause Covid, but they've damn sure blown it out of proportion and have reported it the worst way possible and there's no way Trump isn't a good bit of the reason for that as well.
Hate crimes are way up under Trump. So yes, he does have something 'to do with these things.'
FBI data show that since Trump's election there has been an anomalous spike in hate crimes concentrated in counties where Trump won by larger margins. It was the second-largest uptick in hate crimes in the 25 years for which data are available, second only to the spike after September 11, 2001.
...counties that hosted a Trump campaign rally in 2016 saw hate crime rates more than double compared to similar counties that did not host a rally.

When you stand up in front of the country and say xenophobic **** all the time you're sending a clear message that it's fine, or even expected, for Americans to act that way towards each other.
The President of this country's words matter. A lot.
He says 'stupid' and xenophobic things all. the. time. If he's under scrutiny like any president is, and stupid, xenophobic statements pour out of his mouth like water, what is the media supposed to do? Ignore it? It's their job to report it, and yes, since they're more liberal they're going to do so with enthusiasm.
This is what happens when you put a childish, xenophobic, narcissistic reality-show star that's disrespectful to the seriousness of his office in the White House.
A president's political power is kept in check by our three-branch system. But his ability to do harm to the American people and our reputation abroad with his words and rhetoric is basically boundless.
You know what matters even more than all that?
Having a hostile media that does its level best to twist every single comment the man makes into something "xenophobic" or frame it as somehow racist, when in reality they were not.
The man isn't racist. There's zero evidence of that. But kind of like a few people on this very board, when I have pointed out that blacks commit most of the violent crime and deserve a good bit of the blame for their lot in life, they have made snide comments about "racist comments".....that's what the media has been doing to Trump the entire time.
But yeah, to the left it's just "orange man bad". You could be shown an internal video from all the news outlets where they all agreed on tape to conspire against him, and your response would be "yeah, but orange man bad" and dismiss the evidence. That's exactly what you're doing here. You act like what the press does to Trump doesn't matter.
Sorry, but it DOES. It matters more than anything a President can do. They could have reported on every single gaffe Obama made. They didn't.
They could have done like Fox News did, and frame things in a negative light towards Obama and easily made him look like a bumbling idiot...but since they are in the tank for the Democrats and particularly Obama.....they didn't.
Remember Obama going at it with Fox News? I do. He refused to appear there for awhile, because he thought he "couldn't get a fair shake".
Okay, but Fox is a small part of the overall media. Now imagine basically everyone else BUT Fox being on your ass 24/7, framing things in a negative light. And then imagine, instead of ignoring it, you fight back. And they just come back harder.
The press is to blame FAR more than Trump, because they have more influence on his image than he does. It'd be just as easy to let some of the small stuff go and only stick to the bigger stories, but that's not their mission.
