Never too early for this topic...

According to D1 baseball we have the following players in the transfer portal already...
Trey Truitt
Brandon Hudson
Sam Griesbauer
Champ Cooper (I assume Trey Cooper?)

Baseball is harder to come by transfer info but I'm sure a couple of us can try to fill in some gaps with info as it's acquired. Ethan needs to get that IPS relationship started with the team to get that scoopage! Daniel Wilson?! Get us that dirt buddy!

A really good SS from Kansas just hit the portal. Hit just under .400 originally from Hawaii. Name is Maui Ahuna

This could be an awesome thread or it could die fast and furiously but I figured I'd give it a shot.

We'll have some proven pitchers coming back.

Potentially a healthy Sam Highfill along with a year older/healthier Logan Whitaker and probably Matt Willadsen as well. That right there is a very good weekend rotation.

Logan Whitaker has been really really good this season and with the exception of the Va Tech game, he's not given up more than 3 runs in a start all season (11 of 12).

Willadsen has really only had 3 bad starts all year and has been extremely good since the Va Tech series.

We also bring back Carson Kelly, Justin Lawson, Logan Adams, Baker Nelson and Garrett Payne. All will be another year older.

Baker Nelson was good early on this season, I think he just needs confidence back along with some mechanical adjustments.

We also bring in (depending on the draft) some really good arms like Derrick Smith from Minnesota and Robert Evans originally from NY but attends P27 Academy in SC. I really like both Smith and Evans. Evans is a lefty.

I know Chrysler is looking at some JUCO arms as well and there's obviously the portal to hit up.

I hate he got hurt, I was excited to see him play.

But, draft gods willing, the CF of the future is Michael Gupton.

Speaking of speed. I was told by someone on the team that Payton Green is the fastest guy on the team. If he can develop his glove further at SS then watch out.

Hands down the fastest baseball recruit in America. Rumor has it he is pretty set on going to college, but you know what money can do to that.

As far as the bat goes, he has power potential, but has to make contact first. That will come with time.

I love Serrano. Coach's kid, been around the game his whole life. He's got some speed as well.

Sounds like we have some ridiculous athletes coming in next year. Gupton and Zayas are fast for any sport, not just baseball.

Have to think with NIL in place and MLB cutting back on the amount of rounds in the draft, we have a lot better chance of getting these kids to campus than we used to. That being said, speed like Gupton's is going to turn a lot of heads at the big league level. Hopefully he's like Tommy and puts a price tag on himself so high no one will touch him

You nailed it with your first sentence and for whatever reason MLB is starting to cut back on HS draft picks, especially with the aforementioned cut to 20 rounds.

Kids like Gupton and Serrano (and Tommy White, Payton Green) really want to go to school first. NIL is icing on the cake.

Gupton would have a bradfield Jr from vandy type impact. Hitting .330 with 89 stolen bases through 2 years. Gupton could be special if we get him on campus

Does anyone have access to Perfect Game? I wonder what the rankings are for Eli Serrano, Bryant Zayas and Gupton?

Prep Baseball Report has Eli Serrano as the 14th best OF in the class and 59th overall.

Bryant Zayas is 139th overall and the 30th best SS in the class.
Michael Gupton is 156th overall and the 30 best OF in the class.

As far as Prep Baseball is concerned, we have 8 kids in their top 400 at this point.
