According to Kendall Rogers, another ODU guy Robbie Petracci entered the portal with some good numbers. Don't know much about the kid put hoping Trice can bring him too. Taking 2 big time players from CLT and ODU back to back years wouldn't be the worst thing, C-USA is a good league

Jared McKenzie? He's very very good and probably one to watch potentially getting drafted. Kid was an All American last year but numbers dipped some this season.

Here's a HUGE one that hit the portal...Paul Skenes from Air Force. Not sure how I missed this one. Played for Avent on Team USA last summer. He's an All American P and C...won 10 games as a P this year. Had 11 saves last year. He'll be able to go anywhere he wants.

Draft guy as a pitcher I'd think. Too much swing and miss to work as a hitter. Reminds me of Bobby Dalbec who was on the Arizona CWS teams in the mid 2010s, with the Red Sox now. Two way guy in college, but hated pitching so he hit in pro ball and is in the bigs. McLean and Dalbec are all power on both sides of the ball.

McLean was also a QB at Garner and I believe went to OK State because of that, although he hasn't played football, not sure if he's still on scholly for football or not. I'm sure somebody here knows the story on his recruitment, State never messed with him in football so I'm guessing baseball didn't have a chance. Definitely a guy who would've been useful. Not sure if Dave wasn't willing to throw Avent a bone or what. Ben Finley was State's QB in that class

My son is friends with Nolan. Played some b-ball with him. He just finished his second season. Don't see him coming back to NC. Wanted to get away from home. Has always been a better baseball player than football. Was also a good b-ball player.

He was a solid QB, but always played summer travel baseball. Never put as much time in with football. His SR season he missed the first 4-5 games because he was on a baseball overseas tour.

don't fully understand going after Fruit. 2 years at EMU and he has a 6.86 ERA in 85 innings with a 83/47 K/BB and .305 BAA. Not quite sure ANY of that translates to the ACC. The kid might have a chance, but at what point do you try to develop a Win Scott, Dienes, Halford, etc. because I am willing to bet those kids would have better numbers than that. Or do you just admit you missed on some kids after their freshman year and just get older at any cost?

thompson on the other hand has JUCO numbers that look like Lawsons. Big stuff (14.46 k/9) and not many hits against him, just has to control it some

as you said, he'll have his choice to go anywhere, but I am sure we can easily sell him on a weekend rotation spot/DH. No idea how his defense compares to cozart but man one can dream
