I read it more as James thinking Trice should have played 2nd base based on conversations they've had on pods. I think it was completely warranted to not have him in the lineup, fwiw, and not sure what benefit we would have gotten with him at 2nd.

Gotcha, I don't listen to the pods, lol. The only reason I would've put him at second would be to to give Green a sit, but it didn't seem like the coaches wanted to do that. I always thought he could be a good player for us, but never seemed to find a spot.

Chrysler just started following Tenn transfer P Hollis Fanning. He's a big boy, 6'8, didn't get much run his first two years at Tennessee. Had 15 appearances for 14 and a third innings this year. Pretty good numbers.

I feel like I read something recently about smaller schools being involved but a bigger program was sniffing around. Full disclosure, I could be getting transfer pitchers mixed up. haha

Would be a really solid pickup. Small sample size but has been good in that sample size, including 11 scoreless innings this summer

Chrysler has been following this kid for a little bit now. Didn't have great FR stats at San Diego but much better numbers this summer in the Northwoods League.

According to D1 baseball's latest transfer update, Dom Pilolli has hit the portal.

As an FYI, I believe the portal is open another 6 days. Depending on how the draft pops for some, we could see a bunch of moves over the last 3 days of portaling (I mean nationally, not related to just State).

We've lost a lot already and will lose more guys. At a minimum we need to replace that lost productivity to be one of the last at large teams selected.

Will be interesting to see, but MOST kids at this age can do both. Rio Britton went from averaging under 2 innings per outing at Oregon to starting on the Cape. He could be stretched out if needed

Fanning is starting this summer for his summer team
