It's not the going rate for players at all.

Tim Corbin is not a fan of the portal in the least bit. They only took one dude last year (from Duke) and even then he wasn't a fan of it. I can't imagine (I'm prepared to be wrong b/c SEC and all) Vandy would pay anything like that but the kid is from near Nashville so someone could want to drop a wad I guess.

Vandy just did get a commit from a kid from Air Force. He's no Paul Skenes (not even close) but he's pretty good and I doubt they paid much, if anything for him. Now I'm watching to see if Vandy takes anymore portal kids.

Chase apparently wants to start and Vitello is telling him, "nope". He started as a FR but was coming out of the pen this year, although he did start 8 games.

Tennessee loses a first rounder b/c he wants to start. Happens even to the SEC.

How was this roster mismanagement? In the kids first 4 SEC starts of the year, he gave up 23 ER in 12.1 innings. He moved to the bullpen and only gave up 5 ER the rest of the year.

WFU board seems to think Corona and Cecere are both transferring to separate schools in the ACC.

Sounds like LSU and Vandy were ready to go after him the first time he floated out going to the portal. Corbin hates the portal but this kid is from close to Nashville. LSU also got a front row view of what he can do in Omaha this year. Of course it was in long relief. ha

Him leaving isn't about NIL (yeah right) but he'd be foolish not to capitalize on NIL at his next stop. His dad played college football at North Greenville...Landon Powell could only dream! haha

I suspect (based on what I heard last night) Corona will end up in SEC, but Cecere could end up in the ACC. It will definitely be one of those two for him. Corona has retained an NIL agent to help him through the process of "maximizing" his NIL.

For his career (2 years, part time starter as a freshman) he is a .300 hitter that gets on base at a .371 clip. Not much pop, 5 HRs, but 7 triples this past year. Low K rate with 46 Ks in 290 career ABs.

This summer, in the Vermont league, he is hitting .351 with more walks than Ks in 15 games

IF Brandon Butterworth (soph - W. Carolina U); really good 3 tool player with a possible fourth tool. Speed and defense is there, profiles up the middle SS/2B/CF. Plus contact skill with possibly adding more power in the future.

Has some room to grow, frame-wise (6’0 / 175)

Regarding Butterworth-

Would have to assume him and Harrison (assuming he comes back), will make up our middle infield. Butterworth played mostly 2nd base and had a .949 fielding %.

If we don't add another guy, Heavner would likely be our 3rd baseman, and the new kid from WSU at 1st.

Yeah when I saw his numbers, 7 triples really stood out, but his stolen base #s don't. He only had 7 stolen bases for WCU last year (caught 1x) and has 3 this summer but has been caught 3 times. I will assume he is a good runner, but not some blazer. JMO from looking at the numbers. He did have 9 stolen bags without being caught as a freshman at WCU.
