Yup

despite the no audio and ****ty ACCN, some thoughts from what you could make out

Trey cooper was legit. looked like he could contribute as his off speed stuff was nasty

Jacob Dienes also was nasty. two really nice looking young left handed arms. Don't know much about Dienes, but his inning was great.

Garrett Payne with a solid 2 innings. Could see him being the midweek guy this year

Villaman and Sipple gave up 4 of our 5 runs, which IMO bodes well. We know how good villaman is. Sipple left a couple balls up, but also struck out 2 of his guys and only gave up hard contact on 1 of this 3 hits given up. Of course, not great, but it's not like he was getting shelled or giving up free passes.

Justin Lawson looked like his numbers would indicate in JUCO. Nasty stuff, a strike out or 2, but had some traffic on the base paths. Clean up the walks, he can play. Big IF but the stuff was pretty good.

Thought Cooper king looked okay in his inning. took a line drive off the back but showed some promise.

Good to see david harrison on the mound. stuff looked good, didn't appear like he has added much velo, but he is a good pitcher. could see him in the Sunday role if they want Villaman in the pen.

Same with Silver, i think he is a better pitcher than his career numbers indicate. He could carve out a bullpen role as a left handed specialist

Absolutely meaningless - gotta win them when they matter! I'm over 60 years old and I don't think I will ever get over the loss to Duke in the ACCT last year!

It was just a battle between 2 of the hottest teams at the time and Duke out played us it's just what it is

Agree on Cooper. It's hard to get a whole lot from that camera angle, but I really like how on top of the ball he was. Had a little bit of a strut to him also, gave me closer vibes.

Austin was on 3rd base with 1 out and the next batter hit a fly ball that was deep enough to tag up and score but he didn't tag up and try to score. That would have made the score 1 to 1 in the 8th inning.

Just stating the facts, I could not believe he didn't score. Don't know if he tripped or not, you have to tag up and try to score also the 3rd base coach has to be communicating with Austin to tag up. And I was right behind home plate and had a good view of the play.

So now you're blaming coach Hart? Which is it?

We made a mistake and Duke was lucky....Duke was hot a we were better. There were things we could have done bettter, not affected by Duke's play in that game, where we could have won. Murr had a play like that. BUT the loss in that game fueled our run in the NCAA's...I think....

by the way, I never admit some one is better than us...never...when I think we were the best team....and we were. That's just me.


So I was sightly disagreeing with Justin's comments ..... but if we weren't the better team REVENGE would not be needed as if they were better or equal, no revenge should be needed...if the best team just won...so Justin sort of agrees with me....

By the way, my mention of Murr was not to slight him but rather like a teammate defending him...and saying we were better and WE as a team could and should have won the game.
