I'd think so. He was trying to sign a pro deal as well so the staff had to know there was a chance he'd not make it.

I guess that's what confusing to me, he wanted to play pro ball but decides not to play here. College baseball is a big grind, so I get it. But it seemed like he still wanted to continuing playing

if the season started tomorrow, what would your ideal lineup be?

C- Godman
1st- Groover
2nd- JT
SS- Hood
3rd- White
OF- D Brown
OF- Dom P
OF- Soles
DH- Truitt

Peyton Green, Lavoie and Cozart top 3 guys off the bench. Could see any or all 3 of those guys starting. The left side of the infield + 3rd OF/ DH will be competitive spots.

IMO Soles/Truitt/White offer a lot of upside in our lineup, but it might come down to Green or Truitt for the last spot in the lineup

Godman is one of the better defensive JUCO catchers out there. Good bat, but better defensively. If he is in the lineup, i think it'll be behind the plate. If hood isn't in the field, that's doing him a disservice for his draft stock but that's okay. IF peyton green is good enough to play everyday, IMO it will be green and Hood at 3rd/SS with Tommy White at DH

I'd be shocked if Payton Green isn't playing every day. Dude was a top-50 prospect by some teams. He was similarly regarded as White and everybody has him penciled in

No one knows. If he is, we are in for a heck of a season. Hood is a proven .300+ hitter at the college level (despite a likely weaker SOS)
