Pretty sure the public doesn't have the right to trespass into the capitol. It's against the law and they were looking to "stop the steal". That's nefarious if the left wing mob did it don't you want them jailed?
The issue is that the PUNISHMENT for this be appropriate. It is a GROSS miscarriage of justice to sentence someone to 2 to 4 years in prison for trespassing. These J6 protesters who were guilty of trespassing should have gotten a fine or probation at worst.
What is delusional is for Leftists like you to think that conservatives should be sentenced to 2, 4, 5, or 10 years in prison for trespassing. Especially when you have hundreds of examples of Leftists trespassing in legislative buildings in recent years and getting off scot free.
They tried to over throw an election that day Im not sure how you can possibly deny that. That's why everyone was there that day.
99.999% of them were simply there to protest the blatantly rigged election. That is why they were there that day. And 99.999% of them did so peacefully and committing no "crime" other than trespassing, which should be a very minor misdemeanor, punished by a fine or probation at worst
Yet you have ~1,500 of them having the book thrown at them and punished WAY BEYOND the punishment warranted for peaceful trespassing, and an egregious miscarriage of justice. That is the issue here.
You should read the Jack Smith report. Everyone knew what Donald Trump said was lie and there's evidence he knew. There was no stolen election. You run with dogs you're gonna get flees.
Just curious… how does Jack Smith know that Trump knew it was a lie? I've yet to see any evidence that Trump was creating the lie; as opposed to believing the election was stolen.
Everything that I've read and or heard was people saying that he knows it was a lie. For me, I don't pretend to know what a person believes. Somewhere, something has to come out showing that a person literally wrote it down and/or communicated that they were making things up.. otherwise, it's just conjecture
It's all in the report. Go read it. Just because it goes against what you believe or think you know, doesn't mean it's conjecture.
What's a fair amount of time to jail your political rivals for trespassing? Lifetime?
I dont know why you keep asking this question. You clearly don't understand the judicial process or how certain laws are applied in certain areas of the country. You have to have a jury decide if you're guilty or not. Looks like some were not found guilty but they still violated the law. You're trying to define these people as simply political rivals. They were not that. They were trying to overthrow the election, break democracy based on a lie and had intentions of doing so that day.
