Wouldn't be NASCAR without a delay…this time lightning.

Happy NASCAR Cup Series race day from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. On tap for Sunday, August 13th is the Verizon 200 at The Brickyard.

Daniel Suarez, who enters the race this weekend outside of the Playoff cutline, will start the race from the pole position. Tyler Reddick will start outside of Suarez on the front row.



The day's television coverage will kick off at 12:00 PM ET on FS1 with NASCAR RaceDay.

After Race Day, NBC will take over with the Verizon 200 pre-race show at 2:00 PM ET. Then the thing we've all been waiting for the Verizon 200 will go live at 2:30 PM ET on NBC.

Man. Larson may go down as the best race car driver ever when it's all said and done. That dude will drive anything with 4 wheels and is successful at everything he tries.

Good on the ownership to keep letting him try too. Always liked Larson. Made some mistakes but owned them and made himself a better person. Great race car driver.

Larson is super talented and the king of dirt.

Busch is super talented and the king of asphalt.

2 great drivers but personally I'll take Busch. What he's done over the years in Nascar in each series may never be accomplished again.

Yes, but this new car has changed things. I've heard that the Roval could go back to the oval next year. I want to see this car on the oval at Indy. JMO we go to 9 races a year, and to be honest the best races are on the ovals…oddly the 1.5s.

Oh, no doubt, they jumped the shark on road courses.
It is interesting how the new car has rejuvenated 1.5 mile tracks and killed the short track and road courses
