Just landed in CLT from Indy and chatted with some NASCAR fans from Ohio who sat in the rain in Charlotte all weekend and have to head home. Husband: "That was a helluva lot of rain, McGee." Me: "I'm glad y'all didn't drown." Wife: "Oh, he did. In Busch beers."

"This is the second year that we've sold out the grandstands and the camping, so it feels good. The racing last year was really exciting, and I think we have found our voice with this race with this theme of patriotism and looking towards Memorial Day."

Happy for the #12 team. Seemed like a fairly decent race. The #9 won't get parked. Worse case is driver and owner points docked. Maybe a fine.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. Jim Valvano.

I wouldn't worry so much about the graft. NASCAR is going to have to determine if the 9 hooked the 11 on purpose. Since the 9 didn't admit that is going to be hard to prove. But yes Chase hooked him, the steering went back to normal after the hit.

Nothing will or should happen to him. Kes made contact as well.

BK's contact had nothing to do with it. NASCAR won't cause he's the golden boy and he's missed too many races already...but clear hook.

Chase gets suspended. I had a feeling he would because of the Bubba/Larson incident last season. No way you could suspend Bubba and not Chase. Uproar would of been loud in the Bubba camp. Denny posting the graph is probably what got him suspended. Clear hook and I'm a Chase fan. I wish he would of owned up to it. Told Denny to kiss his ass.

I guess Hendrick is focused more on getting a waiver for the #9 team to be eligible for the playoffs.

You're right, BK wasn't near enough to cause an issue for Elliot. That said, anytime Hamlin is knocked out, I'm ok with it…. Thankfully, it didn't get him injured going into the wall, like he did…

Glad to see NASCAR went with a precedent. That was a clear hook, but those guys couldn't stop hitting walls and each other all night

Was driving my daughters car yesterday and my iPhone won't connect on it, so some national racing show was on. They were all worked up about the inconsistency applied at Indy which allowed the Penske car to win that last lap shootout after the red flag with 2 laps left. At a track just purchased by Penske! Imagine that.

LOL, that's right out of the ol' NASCAR playbook

I'm confused here about what the "inconsistency" at Indy was, as there had been another red flag just laps earlier prior to the last one. It was very clear to me as I was watching that they were trying to have a finish under green instead of under yellow...

Normally that race would have finished under yellow which IIRC would have allowed Ericsson to secure the win. They don't have overtime. Yes it was outside the norm for Indy series. That being said, I was happy to see Newgarden get his 1st 500 win.

Nope. That race would have finished under yellow from the previous caution (that went red) which I think would have been O'Ward (not sure - but I know it wasn't Ericsson). I thought that finishing under green made for an exciting finish there.

I agree about finishing the race under green. That was an exciting one lap shootout. It was either Ericsson or O'Ward. I can't remember either.

It was Ericsson. O'wards wreck is what caused the caution. And yes that style of racing. That normally would have ended that race under caution. Happened a few years back and i remember a number of people making a big deal that it didn't end under green. And Indy car defended as that's what they normally do. I would say the concerning thing is Roger's purchase of indycar rather than the speedway (though i realize those purchases were one and the same).
