Made the rounds this morning through the MSM and major social media sites. Here's what you would've seen:

MSNBC- Election Day won't stop the GOP's war on democracy

CNN- As the 2020 campaign season comes to a close, false video of Biden spreads

CBS- Trump eyes possible legal fight over election

ABC- Campaign draws to a close as Trump threatens legal action

NBC- Chaos, anxiety and optimism: Inside the Trump campaign's final mad dash

Google- Trump suggests he might fire Fauci...Trump lashes out after FBI investigates Biden bus incident

Twitter- President Trump denies Axios report that he will prematurely declare victory on Tuesday

Other than CNN, virtually no other source even mentioned Biden at the top of their site. Every single one is dominated by Trump-negative headlines.

The media's in-your-face, non-stop assault on the right in general and Trump in particular is very, very troublesome for me. I've been a democrat my entire life but I've come to feel that should I vote for Biden, I'm endorsing the media's strong-arming of the nation to follow along with their political views and how they view the nation should be ran. To me, that's a very dangerous path to follow headed forward. I'm convinced the main reason they hate Trump so is because he literally stripped them of their power. Their attempts to shape public opinion don't affect him. Right or wrong, Trump is going to Trump regardless of the media's pressure and I think that drives them insane.

You are exactly right Steve. Trump has done it his way and not the establishment way and that does drive them insane. He has stripped them of what power they thought they have. He goes right to the people and the people are responding. I hope your vote reflects what you are seeing and are correct about.

IMO, the main reason that the Establishment media expresses such blatant bias and hatred towards Trump is because of what Trump represents. Trump, via his rhetoric, represents a true "anti-Establishment' figure -- who rejects the "mainstream" Leftist ideology on important issues such as immigration, trade, and the useless and illegal foreign wars. And, as you pointed out, that also includes Trump's willingness to call out the Establishment media for their far left (socialist/Marxist) bias. And, of course, that infuriates the Leftist/Marxist ideologues that run the Establishment media to be called out and opposed like this.

Every Republican President of the last several decades has been a blatant "RINO" fake conservative, and obvious Establishment/elite puppet -- who would "play ball" with the Establishment media, and not speak out so strongly against them. But Trump is a whole different ball game. And with social media and the internet, he does not need the Establishment media in order to reach the masses and get out his message.

Everyone knows the media is biased, people only disagree on the extent. A vote for Biden doesn't mean you support the media any more than a vote for Trump means you support everything he says. And let's not pretend that Trump doesn't throw red meat to the liberal press every chance he gets. He loves the spotlight, even when negative. Why the hell is he even talking about Fauci right now. It's stupid.

The media doesn't like disruption to their agenda. So far I don't think Trump has been manipulated by them to make decisions and they really pisses them off.

LOLOL.

Do you really expect state AG's to sit idly by while Trump and his team piss all over them and their constituents' voting rights?

It's OK for Trump's team to vomit out anti-democratic rhetoric about votes that legally get counted after election constituting stealing the election?

It's cool for Trump to brag about blowing into the state with his lawyers immediately after the election to correct vote counts?

What American president tries to tell Americans that our elections are rigged because he's too narcissistic to believe he could lose honestly? Who does that? What president undermines the American electoral process?

Blame Trump and the David Millers of the world that suck off his teats, not AG's who get tired of their bull**** and stand up for their states and their state's voters.

Love your selective outrage and pearl-clutching about the AG's tweet but not about the original offensive comments by Trump and David Miller.

Shapiro isn't making the comment unprovoked. He's responding directly to Trump and Trump's team's lies from yesterday about PA electoral processes.

What the AG said is the consequential result of Trump's damaging rhetoric and bragging about what his attorneys were going to do in PA after the election.

If Trump and David Miller don't try to undermine voter confidence or the PA electoral process, you never hear word one from Josh Shapiro.

I'm still waiting for your vitriol about Trump calling our elections rigged without evidence and attempting to undermine American voters' confidence in elections. I have a feeling I'll be waiting awhile.

Well not if those 3 aren't called. Too many votes among those.

I think PA goes solidly Blue on election night. That plus a few other swing state wins would be enough to put Biden over the top.
Trump will likely safely win Ohio. I could see Florida being extremely close and taking another few days

And the news agencies just push them further that direction by this overwhelming force of content like what Steve provided. He only lists one headline per page....but if you go to any of them, or at least certainly CNN, there will be 6-10 very negative headlines about Trump.

I'm not following this issue; however, if you think something didn't provoke each other, you are living in a dumpster. I'm sure this thing breaks down to a simple chicken and egg - what came first...

Based on what I read here; Civ, you have a more connected relationship to the actual facts on this than anybody. Perhaps, you say things to create power in the conversation. We all know this is a pissing match and everyone is playing politics to win points, including here...

Undermine voter confidence? Isn't that what everyone does? Throw out an outlandish claim to do what? Both sides do it. With a true constitutional government, that is "NOT" passing policies outside their powers, we wouldn't have as much of this as we do. Would it eliminate this? No, because people Love Power!!!

This is exactly what people on the right have been screaming about. You are wise to spot it.

For over 4 years it's been like this non stop. And they've been doing it to republicans for decades but they lost their minds when Trump was able to bounce everything off that they threw at him.

Trump has reshaped the GOP into the party of the common working and middle class person. It's not perfect and the transition isn't complete but it's well under way. Democrats have become the party of socialist elites. It's not your fathers democrat party. I wish you best of luck with your vote... a lot of life long democrats that aren't blinded by Trump hatred are seeing the same thing you are.

The Democrat Party has a history of rigging elections. Tammany Hall in NYC and quite frankly all of the D controlled cities in the Northeast. The D's are responsible for the literal suppression of the black vote in South. The JFK chicanery in Illinois and WV in 1960. The Franken-Coleman fiasco in 2008. All the way through this year's primaries. The Republican party is the equivalent of the C side (team) when it comes to rigging elections. No doubt the D's will be finding thousands of mystery Biden ballots after Tuesday.

I can agree somewhat. Everyone has biases and people seek our media to confirm those biases and make them feel better about their world view. You have to consciously read "opposition" sources and expose yourself to worldviews separate from your own to have any shot at an objective opinion. I try very hard to do this, but I still enjoy Libertarian sites the most because their views largely mirror my own.

However, I don't think the random, low information American is going to CNN, getting upset with Trump and suddenly becoming political. Most of those are not watching the news at all and many are non-voters. Most low information voters are already going to be partisan, and they will self select into CNN or Fox.

It's not just CNN, it is all web news as well. All news and search is geared toward the left. The left controls the media and cultural outlets. That's what the low info voter sees.

So your average semi-intelligent person who goes to CNN (maybe because they are a bit left-leaning already), walks away thinking the guy is the devil.

*And they may be right that he is the devil, btw...but that's a different story.

Yeah no.
You're completely ignoring the many conservative sites that exits. Fox, Breitbart, The Blaze, OAN, etc. And those places have millions of low information viewers as well. Biased liberal media may have numbers, but biased conservative media is quite strong.

I think the most dangerous point to all that is... ok we have biased media on both sides. It's a lot harder to find conservative media and it's mostly off mainstream TV. But the worst part is... you can't google things without a left bias. Non left wing news is censored or shadowbanned in many cases. If someone of low info and non partisan wanted to look up Donald Trump or GOP and just googled it the whole first page and probably many pages after would be filled with negative stories from liberal media outlets. That's where the freedom of information is dangerously getting choked down. And people are getting censored off twitter, facebook, and youtube. It's a situation that needs to be addressed and I hope it is.

Could be. But I've always envisioned this block of voters as
1) get their news via headlines only
2) get their news from their angry buddy over the neighbor fence or at the workplace
3) get their news from their angry buddy on social media.

Item 2 / 3....not much you can do. Item 1 --- leads to the very clearly intentional misleading.

ETA: I left out one --- get their news from any of the common news sources, but via the entertainment / argument portion of those agencies, which dominate the landscape on TV (and I guess radio) These are of course then opinions, not news, but many don't recognize that.

And, btw -- the above is true for sports too obviously. We want to hear that our teams are best, and if not, the source must be biased (and clearly, sometimes are).

You also have to look at market share when you're looking at where people get their news. Traditional evening network news still totally dwarfs all the cable networks put together.
So it doesn't really matter that fox leads the cable news ratings. That is just a very small portion. When you start adding in all the newspapers which are nearly all liberal, all the lib websites, and then the fact that the social media sites very much have their censoring tilted to the left, it's not even close.
And Fox
might be the ratings leader, but consider the fact that they are only one of the big three, and MSNBC and CNN are totally run by the Democrats. So Fox is still technically outnumbered even though they beat either of those channels one on one

If I'm very famous, or - for the sake of conversation - the President of the United States, and most of the time I open my mouth I say something insulting, inflammatory, ridiculous, or just flat out untrue, what would "unbiased" coverage of that behavior look like?

This "woe is us, the liberal media doesn't cover us fairly" BS is such circular logic with Trump.

There is a norm-breaking, entitled, impulsive reality TV clown sitting in the chair where the president should sit in the Oval Office. Republicans put him there because they liked the fact that he wasn't a "typical politician." You chose to put Ronald McDonald in a suit in that office. That's on you.

Well guess what, when you're colossally ill-suited for the job you hold, and you hold the most important job in the United States, the media is going to have a thing or two to say about it. I'm sorry that offends your delicate sensibilities.

When Nikki Haley is elected president in 2024 there is a 100% chance the media covers her differently than they covered Trump. You know why? Because there is a 100% chance she will act infinitely more intelligent, mature, empathetic, honest and presidential than Trump.

Mark it down.

I'm not ignoring anything. You have to specifically search out and go to a conservative station or site. We are bombarded everyday through osmosis with left wing doctrine via entertainment, overall media, education outlets, etc. As has been stated, low info voters don't seek out major liberal outlets or conservative outlets, but they do get a dose of lefty slant everyday just by being alive. Especially reading the headlines.

Strictly my observation / anecdotal take, but I'll be surprised if Trump takes NC. I've seen more Biden stuff in rural NC than I ever did Hillary. I hate both choices, so either way is a big fat L to me... just my prediction.

Pubs will correctly assess that she's their antidote to Kamala. She's a really, really strong candidate. Much stronger than anyone we've had the last two cycles for sure.

I think she brings much of the same intelligence, empathy, relevant experience, and acumen as Kamala without the analogous misgivings to Kamala's very liberal voting history or prosecutorial past that some independents (and even some moderate libs) have.
