So, murders, whether done by white people, brown people, or black people, on either white people, brown people, or black people are equally tragic and sickening.

I would hope people would understand that pro 2nd amendment advocates see each of these murders equally sad. No more or less sad than maybe you see them. That said, pro 2nd amendment folks also see the narrative about guns as concocted when it looks as if it feels right for certain people.

If one cares about unnecessary death, then, shouldn't they feel that way all the time?

I think the above question is really all this is about when people show different statistics, whether one agrees with the statistics or not...

You purposefully ignored the links, the statistics from the FBI and other what you would call "credible sources" if they supported your position. They didn't.

Second, and maybe more at point -- the shootings in Uvalde and Buffalo are completely unrelated and not even comparable to the nightly killings in inner city crime areas....and I think anyone with half a brain knows this. They have nothing to do with each other.

That person with half a brain also know why the coverage is different. Same reason as why if a pedestrian gets struck walking in a poor neighborhood, it gets zero coverage, but if the person is in Ballantyne, it would leave the news coverage for multiple episodes. So when every day poor crime-riddled kill other poor crime-riddled people, it doesn't move the meter. But shoot a bunch of kids in a neigbhorhood that isn't that far removed from yours or mine.....thats a different story altogether. And I know you know that, we all are smart enough to understand that.

Question Hokie.....do you think the most likely compromise (raising age of AR purchases) should be pursued?

(of course, the focus right now is 18 yo becausee the last two were 18, but the majority who conducted these active shooter situations in 2021 were 30+ years old).

The phrase "well-regulated" in the vernacular of the late 18th century (and still to this day) essentially means a "well-equipped" or "well-armed" militia is "necessary to defend the state".

Do you really think that the founders meant that you should restrict the ability of citizens to own weapons, and that this would somehow better enable the militia to defend the nation? That's makes absolutely no sense at all.

The term "regulated" is still used in this way today. Something that is "well-regulated" is functioning properly or well.
