Something that really stands out about this team is the defense. We're not far removed from being one of the worst defensive teams I've ever seen. The transfers for the infield have completely stabilized our defense. AMak, Butters, Pennington this season, just wow.

This is not the shootout I was hoping for. At least they finally got to another USC arm. Out of curiosity I wandered over to the USC message boards to check out their conversation about the regional. It is page after page of an ugly, toxic stew of almost pure negativity towards themselves, their coach, everyone else in this "weakest regional", our stadium, etc... Now I want them to lose even more than I did before.

Could be, but I don't think so, both pitchers had something in there on the left side only and it was the same shape. Wondering if it is some sort of protective pad.
