Reportedly, Tiger turned down a billion for his appearance. I daresay there's plenty more money to go around.
I'd love to see all the heads explode if he were to decide to take their money and play there. Members of the media, the PGA, etc. would not know whether to sht or go blind, and it would be hilarious. You'd see opinion positions change faster than the last 10 laps of an 80's race at Talladega.
I will still hold the players in high regard regardless of where they choose to play. Capitalism built our country. No reason to deny them their opportunity to cash in. Or not.
Tiger is the only player im confident never moves. Im not sure he has it in him to play at all outside of the majors and special events (the pro/am before the British etc.,). But even if he does, legacy is all he plays for at this point.
The LIV Tour will win when people watch it. Right now based on viewers of the 1st event, not many are watching. Stars move the needle for fans, not a World ranking or "former major winner" status. Phil and DJ are stars. If Koepka and Bryson finds form again they have some star power. The rest of the former major winners are not needle movers for fans. Nobody tunes in to watch Graeme McDowell or Charl Schwartzl play a round. Phil has one top 20 in an event since 2019 (the PGA win out of nowhere), and he's 83rd in the world and he still has more fans and more of a following on the course than guys who've been dominant at times in just the past few years (DJ, Koepka).
The number of stars they currently have apparently isn't enough. Its going to take some more people of the Rory, Rahm, JT, Spieth, Scheffler, Morikawa tier of pro or a good amount of the young up and coming stars like Zalatoris, Cam Smith, Sam Burns, Max Homa, etc.,
