Everyone knows (if you don't, here goes) that I work in the Golf industry. I have connections to things going on…

Here is what is being said about the LIV: this series, for the Saudi's, is nothing more than a betting play. They say that the Saudi's will be the house (house money) and are expecting a minimum of a 3X return on their money.

The players are going, obviously for the money; however, for the Saudi's, it's a casino play…
When you say you have connections...do you mean "I play golf with Tiger when he's on the east coast" connections or do you mean "i could get you a decent deal on a new set of cubs if your interested" connections?

I ask because for two reasons....#1 I'm curious, and #2 I could use a new set of clubs
No, I do not play golf with Tiger, in fact, I don't play at all anymore. The connections are more industry based and my brother knows several players, on both tours, as well as people within the industry. His connections are far greater than mine.
On the illegal or criminal immigrants…

I will say this and I know this is going to come off poorly, to this crowd. I do get to spend time with a bunch UNC people, including former BB players. Heck, my brother spoke at the Roy Williams Invitational several months ago. We both let it be known we are State people.

As far as the UNC people and players, they have all been very nice and completely opposite of what we think. My brother has spent time in Roy Williams office and said he is as nice a person as you want to meet…

One other think, I got to spend time with Jaccob Slavin, the other day. He is just a really nice person. Deeply rooted in his faith!

There are tons of UNC fans who are nice, good people, etc. If you'd stopped there, no reasonable person would disagree.

I know, i know....most of the people we hate in sports (probably in other arenas as well), if we really had inside access, would realize they are decent people.

*Also true, in the case of sports, if we really go to know some of our "heroes", we may be dismayed at how much of a jack-leg they are..

crazy - the biggest tournament in the world, and guys can hit an iron to a closing P4 hole w/basically zero risk. Seeing that makes me wonder why R&A hasn't pushed harder to change the ball/clubs the pros use.

All depends on if the wind is blowing or not. That is the course's only defense.

Right, and its stunning to watch at St Andrews, regardless....but if the weather lays down, it can get boring (like the Scottish on Sunday).

No seriously, that was Gannon yesterday, right?

I can do w/o Azinger. Have had to work the last 2 AMs, but can't wait to get up tomorrow and watch it. Clearly Tiger woudl have changed it, but otherwise, its a pretty darn strong leaderboard, if a bit spread out.

Cam Smith is great TV, Rory, Hovland is budding star, DJ, Scheffler host player in teh world, Cantlay in one of the last groups, and I love this Theegala guy.
Plus Speith, Rahm, and Xander all close enough to show most of their shots.

Did you see him drain three or four, six to eight footers to save par on that back 9?

and Zalatoris is just far enough out of it that I won't be forced to watch too terribly much of him (at least for today)

You told me to keep my eyes open!

The one's I saw were a nice bold STITCH spelled out on the side of the hat on the hem. I was multitasking yesterday (watching while working)... today I'll be able to pay more attention and get you some names.

BTW - still noticing logos that have been "patched" over with a new logo (usually the embroidery is directly on the garment - now it's on a patch)... I know for a fact that I saw Joaquin Neimann with an adidas logo patched over that you could still see it showing through.

I figured that you would have gotten the scoop for us on that already after we first discussed it here several weeks ago... inquiring minds want to know these things.

OK. THE WIFE DERAILED MY DAY YESTERDAY BEFORE IT EVEN GOT STARTED. Will try to pick this back up today... have been assured that there will be no interruptions until after 3:00 PM EDT.

STITCH names (will update as I notice them):

Trey Mullinax - STITCH - (with the logo "S" starting the name) across the front of his hat. Seen multiple times on and then finishing up on 18 - playing this morning with Kisner.

*On a separate note, can't tell for sure yet, but it looked like Patrick Reed on the driving range with LIV Golf across the front of his hat (will confirm or correct when I get a better view of it)

Mullinax is a full Stitch sponsored player. Reed and Koepka usually keep custom made head covers in their bag. The younger Keopka wears all Stitch, the last time I checked…

Was 100% sure that Gannon was on with Faldo yesterday on the USA coverage... today it was Tirico and then they brought in Azinger... now towards the end they are announcing that this is Faldo's last broadcast (I think he's going to the LIV ).

No seriously, that was Gannon yesterday, right?

Oh! By the way... saw the Stitch logo multiple times today...
I can do w/o Azinger. Have had to work the last 2 AMs, but can't wait to get up tomorrow and watch it. Clearly Tiger woudl have changed it, but otherwise, its a pretty darn strong leaderboard, if a bit spread out.

Cam Smith is great TV, Rory, Hovland is budding star, DJ, Scheffler host player in the world, Cantlay in one of the last groups, and I love this Theegala guy.
Plus Speith, Rahm, and Xander all close enough to show most of their shots.
Yes, Cam Smith is great TV!

Did you see him drain three or four, six to eight footers to save par on that back 9?

and Zalatoris is just far enough out of it that I won't be forced to watch too terribly much of him (at least for today)

Cam Smith looks likes a guy playing at the local public course. He just came from the outskirts of small town USA to a great course and whips everyone. You all have seen the type…

Also, the game needs for Fowler to start playing good again.
On the illegal or criminal immigrants…

I agree on Fowler. He's a relatable guy and has been the guy I've pulled for for a long time, but after finally figuring out his driver, he now can't make a putt now if his life depended on it. He was in contention at the Scottish and four putted from like 18 feet.

And Cam's accent would quickly give away that he wasn't just a mullet from small town USA lol

I personally wouldn't ever have a mullet (and never have); however, I love his "everyday man's" look toward the game.

My boys love the fact he has the mullet (though none of them would ever try to pull it off).

And the guy just comes across as genuine and nice

I remember Cam Young playing in the Stitch intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs, in Cary. He lost in extra holes…

Is Rory playing in t final group at The Open in St Andrews the best final day pairing for golf since…

Phil in PGA at Kiawah?
Tiger at the Tour Championship?

I think given the current events in golf and Rory's clear step up in being the voice of the PGA, it's right up there, maybe above Phil amd on par with Tigers start?

The crowd will be electric tomorrow and its going to draw huge ratings. Has to be one of the most hyped final pairings due to Rory in a while.

If Rory can win tomorrow it would be a pretty dream major season for the PGA and DP world tours in the face of the LIV tour's presence. 3 of the biggest names that the PGA tour is going to be relying on to draw views and lead the future of their tour would have won majors this year (JT, Rory and the new star in the making Scheffler). And the face of european golf (Rory) and one of the up and cominh European stars for future Ryder Cups in Fitzpatrick will be winners.

hate it for Rory, couldn't buy a putt today.

But wow was that impressive by Cam Smith. He's fun to watch

Spot on on both points. Those putts on 17 and 18 by Smith were just ballsy.
