Stay in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Omaha is just across the river. Uber to and from stadium/ hotels are like 15-20 bucks a trip. Best steaks you'll ever eat are in downtown Omaha. Buy the book of tickets if you can stay out there for the whole tournament. If not, sell the book of tickets once you have to go home. Rooms in Cedar Rapids are cheaper and there are casinos in Iowa, not in Nebraska
I think you mean Council Bluffs. Cedars Rapids would be a serious Uber

Exactly how expensive are flights and hotels in Omaha?

I said it Friday night....but the 21-2 loss was a lot better than a 4-3 walkoff loss. It was likely much tougher on our fans who got ridiculed and couldn't control anything. It was also over so early we didn't have to burn any key relievers.Civilized said:
On one hand I can hardly wrap my head around what just happened, but on the other hand I knew they'd do it, even moreso after it was obvious the Hogs would sleep on us after 21-2.
Or maybe that's the bourbon talking.
I am 100% sure I'm happy AF right now!

I was talking about when he came out of the game. Didn't see any post game of him until you posted this.Tom OBriens Smile said:

Glad we got to him, but he seemed like a fine person.
Unrelated, but did these games count, or was the ACCT final against Duke the only game of consequence we've played?

I am so very proud of this team not giving up and continuing to put on their hard hats go to work everyday, and do their jobs. They never get too high or too low and just keep playing....AND WINNING!!!
He seems fine and is a great pitcher. It is hard to like him with the announcers slobbering all over him.Tom OBriens Smile said:

Uncharacteristically we gave up 3 unearned runs out of those 7. Pitching was fantastic.Packchem91 said:
First, hats off to Kevin Kopps. I know it got tiring hearing about him non-stop over the past two weeks...but he has earned all his accolades, and though I'm not sure he was "a" game tonight, he gutted it out. When you have an ace who is willing to pitch under any conditions like that (as opposed to a prima donna), you can go far.
Second, hats off to our pitching. Over the two win-or-go-home games, allowed 7 total runs to that mashers lineup at their place is very impressive. My son pointed out, and I think 100% accurate -- the key was we limited walks and HBP. If you only give up solo HRs, its usually ok....but walks lead to disasters.
In general, Friday night proved how amazing this run of pitching has been. We needed to have those 4 guys who served as starters/long relief be at there best, along with Justice, and they were for the entire 2nd half of the season adn thru the post-season. Kudos to the staff for getting them to that position.

Just watching clips, and helluva play by Tresh for the last out. That guy gets on there and it gets really tight in there. He took charge, scooped it, and made a great throw to first. For a dude that was just a hitter when he got here, he's made tremendous improvements.

Yep. Luca shoulda made the play on the bunt from the C earlier in the game as well.metcalfmafia said:wilmwolf80 said:

On the clip posted by Pack9 on Instagram or Twitter you can hear the coaches yelling Lucas name to make the play there. That ball was in no mans land. Great play.

I will be a fan of this kid if he gets to the league. Kind of sucked they showed him and his dad's disappointment more than our kids celebrating.Packchem91 said:

Did Jose's homer clear the bleachers? Watching clips and I don't see anyone in the stands catch it.
No, I'm asking did he hit it completely out of the stadium? It was launched and he knew immediately. Over those bleachers had to be 450.

How does this affect recruiting? Jajaja. That game had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Highfill and Willadsen have turned into studs. Great job by our pitching coach. I had a good feeling about him when we hired him.

question is where are all the people from friday night?
You mean the Arkansas fans?
No. The sorry ass holes that sht talk Elliott Avent after every loss but disappear during the wins. Those people.
Haaaaa. As the ball was hit, one of my sons on our group text, clearly just ahead of me, texted "OMG". As I saw that play unfolding, I took the negative out of his text and figured the ball had been thrown away. But it was a great play, with an accurate throw while on the move.Civilized said:wilmwolf80 said:

I know it's just me being used to coaching 13 year olds but I almost passed out when that ball was thrown. 100% sure Tresh was going to whip that into the right field corner.
That play was so much harder than he made it look. Helluva play.
