I go into my daughter's play thinking forfeit and then come out seeing we're playing with a MASH unit.

State has to be patient against Rocker. Can not swing at balls well out of the zone. Three strikeouts with breaking balls in the dirt.

Assume the breaking pitch is coming with two strikes. Have to jump on fastballs in the zone early. Don't worry about pitch count, the only way to chase him from the game is runs.

Oh I know. They know Rocker is going to throw the breaking ball and he is likely going to throw it when he needs a strike. It is better than his fastball. They will figure it out, but if they swing at balls out of the zone all day, it will make it an easy day for Rocker.
