The No. 12 NC State women's tennis team kicked off their ACC home-opening weekend with a 4-0 sweep of No. 37 Virginia Tech on Friday afternoon at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
The match marked the 23rd meeting between the two programs, with the Wolfpack, extending its dominance 17-6 in the series.
The Wolfpack began with another strong performance in doubles play, clinching its sixth consecutive doubles point victory. Leading the charge was the No. 2 duo of
Gabriella Broadfoot and
Maddy Zampardo, who led over No. 60 Charlotte Cartledge and Ozlem Uslu, securing a 6-2 win marking their 10th dual-match victory of the season. In No. 3 doubles,
Kristina Paskauskas and
Michaela Laki rounded out the doubles sweep, extending their own streak to four straight wins with a 6-3 victory over Mila Mulready and Linda Ziets-Segura.
With a 1-0 lead heading into singles, the Wolfpack kept their momentum. Players,

Mia Slama all claimed the first sets of their respective matches.
Freshman
Mia Slama put on an impressive display, earning her fifth singles win of the season. After dropping just one game in the first set, Slama cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Laima Frosch, putting the Pack on the board.
Sophomore
Gabriella Broadfoot also had a strong showing, taking the first set 6-1 and continuing her dominance in the second to claim a 6-1, 6-3 win over Semra Aksu of Virginia Tech, earning her seventh singles victory of the season.
On Court 2, No. 106
Maddy Zampardo turned in a solid performance, maintaining control of her match after winning the first set 6-2. Zampardo wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory, securing her eighth singles win of the season and clinching the match for NC State.
The Wolfpack will now look ahead to its next challenge, as they return to Raleigh to host No. 2 Virginia on Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 PM at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
