What was it like scoring your first touchdown at NC State?

Really, I was kind of numb to it.

In my heart, I feel like I was supposed to be in the end zone a long time ago.

But my journey has been about being patient. God gave me the opportunity, and it felt great.

It was quite a throw from CJ Bailey. You’ve seen him make throws like that throughout your career. What was it like to see him do it at this level and still be alongside him?

It was obviously great.

He put it right on the front of my left chest.

I wasn’t surprised. He’s made those passes throughout our time together.

As you said, he’s a wonderful player, a great quarterback, a great leader, and just my friend.

Keenan was talking about how the offense struggled to move the ball in the second half against Wake Forest. What do you think played into that, and what are you hoping to work on during the bye week to change it?

It’s just the little things.

We always stress the little things as an offense.

We all have to step in, keep working, and continue to get better.

This game has such a small margin for error.

We’ve got to come in, work, and keep making those plays so we can come out in the second half and be better.

What are some of those little things? Is it hand placement, footwork, and things like that?

Yeah, really all of that.

It’s everybody across the offense. It’s not just one person.

We’re a unit. We’re a team.

Like Coach Roper likes to say, you want to be a well-oiled machine.

Everybody has to mesh into one and do all the right things at the right time.

You talked about the touchdown, but what has it been like finally having this opportunity at the college level after playing college football for multiple years without getting this kind of chance?

I’m grateful every day to be here.

I’m grateful to get these opportunities. I’m grateful to get these chances.

I love NC State more than they know.

I haven’t had this opportunity, as you guys know.

It just feels great to be here, to work every day and have coaches who believe in me and pour into me.

It’s just wonderful.

Have you ever seen a blocking receiver as aggressive as Keenan Jackson is in that part of the game?

I’ve played with a lot of good receivers who could block, but Keenan is special.

Keenan can do it in both the pass and run games.

He gives full effort.

He’s a guy who takes control of the room and helps a lot of young and new guys.

He’s a great leader for us.

He does wonderful work.

What have you seen from Keenan and some of the other leaders, particularly on offense, to help get the team’s mindset back after the way things have gone?

It’s the same thing they’ve been preaching since fall camp.

Continue to work. Continue to make plays. Continue to do the little things right.

Continue to get here in the morning and be there for the team.

Those leaders are always on us to keep doing what we need to do to get better.
