Last time I checked the scores, Broadfoot was down 0-3 in the 3rd set….before coming back to win in the tiebreak. She's been clutch in clinching a few team wins recently. It's such a thin line between winning and losing in college tennis…and a lot of sports obviously. So many individual games in college tennis come down to 40-40 deciding point. And so it's just a few crucial points that end up deciding the match, and who can handle those high-pressure moments better.

So apparently Laki lost in a walkover. Hope she didn't suffer a serious injury. They play again tomorrow, so maybe we will find out soon.

Wrapping up the second match of a busy three-match weekend, the No. 12 NC State Wolfpack claimed its eighth ACC Win of the season defeating No. 71 Miami Hurricanes 4-1 Sunday afternoon.

This marked the second meeting of the season between the Wolfpack and the Hurricanes. NC State had previously faced Miami in January, opening its season at the Miami Invitational in Coral Gables.

Following a 4-2 win over the No. 75 Florida State Seminoles Friday evening, the Wolfpack entered this matchup eager to secure another victory against a familiar opponent.

In doubles action, the Pack made an early statement on court three. The duo of Anna Zyryanova and Jasmine Conway came out on top over Jaquelyn Ogunwale & Aely Arai 6-2, giving NC State the early lead. Although the Hurricanes bounced back with a win on court one, the Wolfpack sealed the doubles point with a 6-3 victory from Michaela Laki and Kristina Paskauskas over Maria Paula Vargas & Daria Volosova on court five.

With the lead heading into singles, freshman Gabia Paskauskas quickly made her mark, sweeping Volosova 6-0 in the first set and taking the second 6-1 to secure the first singles point for the Pack

The momentum continued to build as sophomore Maddy Zampardo followed suit with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jaquelyn Ogunwale on court three, giving NC State their third point of the day.

While Miami earned a point on court one after the match was retired due to injury, No. 125 freshman Mia Slama closed out the competition with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 win on court five, clinching the overall victory for the Wolfpack

Looking ahead, NC State will continue their Florida road trip with a match against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles in Fort Myers on Monday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m.

I went to the match today against Cal, in the indoor facility. Laki was there, and wearing one of those full leg braces on her right leg and on crutches. I have no inside info, but IMO I wouldn't expect her back any time soon. But she seemed to be in good spirits, smiling at times I saw her interacting with and supporting her teammates.

We definitely want Laki in the lineup, but we are still a very good team even without her in the lineup. Cal is also a very good team (ranked #18), who barely lost to top 5 ranked Duke by a score of 3-4 about a week ago. And we swept them 4-0 today.

The final two regular season home matches of the season are in two days…Sunday against Stanford at Noon and against ECU at 3:30.

The No. 12 NC State women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance at home, sweeping No. 18 California 4-0 in one of its final regular-season matchups. The win marks the Wolfpack's third victory in program history over the Golden Bears.

Fresh off a two-match road trip in Florida, where the Pack notched their seventh and eighth conference wins of the season, NC State returned to Raleigh looking to experiment with some new pairings heading into the postseason.

At No. 2 doubles, junior Anna Zyryanova and freshman Jasmine Conway set the tone early with a 6-1 win over . On court three, Kristina Paskauskas and Mia Slama sealed the doubles point with a strong finish, giving the Pack the early 1-0 lead.

In singles play, the Wolfpack wasted no time building on their momentum. Paskauskas struck first, taking control on court four with a 6-3, 6-2 straight-sets win to put NC State up 2-0. On court two, No. 89 Maddy Zampardo faced a tough battle against No. 38 Jessica Alsola. After taking the first set 6-3, Zampardo dropped the second 2-6 but came back composed and clutch in the third to close it out 6-4pushing NC State one point away from the clinch.

The final blow came from No. 109 Gabriella Broadfoot. After edging out a 7-6 (7-1) tiebreak in the first set on court three, Broadfoot was challenged by No. 43 Lan Mi, who forced a third set with a 6-4 win in the second. With the match on the line, Broadfoot took control, pulling away 6-3 in the final set to seal the sweep and protect the Pack's undefeated home record this season.

With the regular season winding down, NC State will close things out with a home doubleheader on Sunday. The Pack will take on Stanford at 12:00 p.m., followed by a matchup with ECU at 3:30 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
