The road losses to Duke and unc-CHeat were tough and heart-breaking. They were so close to winning both. In both matches, 5 of the 6 singles matches went to 3 sets. I think we beat them both next year, especially if we get them at home.

But solid bounce back with wins over #30 ranked Clemson and #25 ranked GT this weekend. Particularly tough battle with GT yesterday. They are a good team, and only lost to Duke 3-4 a few weeks ago.

The ACC is so absolutely loaded in women's tennis. We still have #17 ranked Cal and Stanford left in the regular season, but luckily get them both at home. If we can win out in the four remaining ACC regular season matches, I could see us getting a #3 seed in the ACC tournament, or if we go 3-1 over the last four probably around a #4 or #5 seed, which would be ok...the top 8 seeds get a bye into the quarterfinals.

The conference tournament (in Cary at Cary Tennis Park next month) will be a war. NC State, Duke, unc, or Virginia could all win it...IMO. But ultimately I think it comes down to the 3 triangle schools.

The No. 12 ranked NC State Wolfpack (12-5) earned their 12th win of the season with a 4-2 victory over the Florida State Seminoles in Friday's matchup.

Kicking off a three-match weekend road trip in Florida, the Wolfpack traveled to Tallahassee to face the Seminoles in the 27th meeting between the two teams.

The Wolfpack made an early statement in doubles play, with the No. 2 pairing of Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo dominating on court one. The duo cruised to a 6-1 win against Florida State's Eva Shaw and Maria Parra Romero. However, the Seminoles responded by claiming victories on courts three and five, ultimately securing the doubles point.

Entering singles play down 1-0, the Wolfpack quickly gained momentum, winning the first set on courts one, three, five, and six.

Freshman No. 125 Mia Slama, playing in her home state, delivered a commanding performance on court five. She dominated Laura Putz 6-2, 6-0, securing the first singles point for the Wolfpack.

Sophomore No. 72 Maddy Zampardo continued the momentum with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kristyna Lavickova, marking her 10th singles victory of the season.

The Seminoles responded, tying the match with a victory on court two, where No. 68 Anna Zyryanova fell to her opponent 6-4, 6-2.

The Wolfpack regained the lead with the help of freshman Gabia Paskauskas, who battled through a tough first set, winning 7-5. Paskauskas went on to dominate in the second set, securing a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Florida State's Maelie Monfils.

With two matches remaining on courts one and four, the Wolfpack looked to clinch the win. Freshman No. 23 Michaela Laki and sophomore No. 106 Gabriella Broadfoot both fought to put the last point on the board for the Pack. After losing the first set, Broadfoot found her rhythm, winning the second 6-3. Her opponent, Maria Parra Romero, refused to go down without a fight, pushing the match to a third-set tiebreaker. Broadfoot held strong, clinching the victory for the Wolfpack with a 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(7-1) win on court four.

Looking ahead, the Wolfpack will travel to Coral Gables to face the No. 75 ranked Miami Hurricanes on Sunday, April 6 at noon.
