Yeah, they're even worse than the usual parents who berate teachers because little Johnny couldn't possibly have done what the teacher said he did.
Yep, lots of those these days.

It's what's driving good teachers out of the business. ****ty parents!
Shtty parents and lack of support from administration is why my wife retired early from teaching.

My wife wants to quit every day. But, she's trying to hold on a few more years for the guaranteed retirement.
I feel for her, I'm in a similar boat.

My wife didn't work for about 20 year. She was a teacher. She started teaching again, this past year, and plans on continuing. Fortunately, for her, the Administration is pretty good. The parents were fine, not great.

If my wife didn't get a feeling of honor, seeing these kids progress, she wouldn't be doing it. She loves the kids and wants to see them progress. Now, we do have the BS running through Wake County schools and when it becomes 100% mandatory, she will quit.

BTW, they are supposed to be giving out equity sticks to the kids so they can raise when asking or answering a question. My wife's entire grade level refused to do it. So far, no one is forcing them…

And, what color is this equity stick? I'm sure the color matters, especially if it is race related....we know it can't be white, black, red or yellow. Definitely not rainbow striped.

Wonder how much tax payer money was spent studying the complete make up and aspects of the equity stick?

Should it even be called a stick? I daresay that somewhere down the line, a stick was used to beat someone with, and that may be considered abuse.

Seems to me like good old fashioned "raise your hand to answer the question" was not all that bad.

I've actually never seen these equity sticks. In fact, my wife through them in a drawer as soon as they handed them out. I don't think my wife actually listened to the "leftist person" that was given the usability instructions.

Wake County spends money on this stuff that also includes certain training, for the teacher, that is so out there…. I'm not sure what kind of person supports this. Civ?

What the holy hell....sadly not surprising....

After watching that idiot law professor from Berkley perform that clown show on TV last night explaining to the Senate that "men can have babies and if you don't agree you support violence against trans-people.." I can't for the life of me understand how anyone with more than two active brain cells can support the left and the idiots that control their party.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, show me a rooster that can lay a damn egg and you have won me over.

This type of BS politically correct crap is going to keep going sideways until the lefties push too far. I for one hope it has happened and commons sense will win out.

But, as with many things, this board included, so many are so far down the liberal rabbit hole they can't be helped.

You can't fix stupid.

Lol, so then a teacher just randomly selects a student , regardless of whether they are prepared?

Can't you see some mom rushing down to the school to complain that junior came home embarrassed and now she wants a piece of the teacher's azz. Even though junior hadn't read his assignments in a month amd jokes and goods off during class (don't you talk about my baby like that!)

Yeah.... Let's make sure there is no accountability for the kids. I mean, a teacher gives them an assignment, provides them with directions on how to complete the assignment and God forbid she actually EXPECTS them to complete it and be held accountable....

Coming from the "trophies for all" generation wouldn't expect anything less.

You summarized exactly what is wrong with the education system and those that choose to allow nonsense like this to happen.

Your veiled attempt at sarcasm is noted. Although, you swung and missed. You know full well that your ideologies do not fall in line with teachers actually holding kids accountable. You've more than proved that with your posts.

A 22-year old carrying stopped the potential mass shooting in Indiana. Do you guys realize that the text of the Second Amendment says that we have the right to not only own firearms, but to carry them (on our person)? That's what "bear" in "keep and bear arms" means. "Bear" = "carry".

I've said this for years. The solution to stopping "mass shootings" and crime in general is not more gun control and gun bans. It's the opposite. It's getting MORE guns in the hands of law-abiding, good citizens. The solution is this exact thing...having the good guys armed everywhere. Imagine if just 10% (or 25%) of people were carrying everywhere. Then, it would be much, much more difficult to perpetrate mass shootings or other crimes. Because if that were the case and one out of every four people were carrying, a criminal would be stopped very quickly. But even more important that than it would be a HUGE deterrent. If criminals knew that say, 10-20% of the public were carrying, they would be significantly less likely to even attempt these type of crimes.

UVALDE, TX After an armed private citizen bravely stopped a mass shooting at an Indiana mall, the Uvalde Police Department in Texas issued a statement of condemnation, criticizing the citizen for not waiting outside for an hour.

"This is exactly why we can't have armed citizens taking the law into their own hands," said Uvalde CISD Police Chief Pete Arredondo. "We professionals know that the correct procedure is to mill around the hallway and sanitize your hands, or wait outside for an hour until the shooting stops before going in. That's the only way you can ensure nothing bad or dangerous will ever happen to you. Who does this so-called 'good Samaritan' think he is?"

I have been on vacation and then away from the board for a week due to a death in the family.

When I heard about this incident, I wanted to see what kind of spirited discussion this event might spark. I am very disappointed that none of the moderate or liberal folks even commented on this story. This story should have a dedicated thread with posters praising the hero's name (Elisjsha Dicken) by now. A police officer stumbling upon the scene at the same time couldn't have done a better job.

Probably in part the poster -- I tend to ignore GP's ramblings, in less its to make fun of his flat earth / fake covid / Buffalo was a hollywood skit beliefs.

In this case...this was a really good result. But if i understand, the good guy was legally carrying a handgun. While I know there are proponents across the nation to restrict / remove access to handguns, I'm not sure that has been part of the debate on this board. Never really been a concern of mine. I think there is still a proliferation of handguns that is an issue, but that is usually the issue for inner city crime. My concerns about limits has been focused on the AR type weapons that are often used in the active shooter type scenarios, including this one. This result doesn't lessen that concern.

The Second Amendment says we have the RIGHT to "bear" firearms. "Bear" = "carry". We have the right to carry. And Indiana has recognized this right to carry.

Anyone carrying a firearm in the United States is doing so legally...per the Second Amendment, which trumps any and all laws to the contrary, including states requiring permits to own handguns or carry.

And handguns are used in probably 95% of all gun-related homicides. And "AR type" rifles are probably used in less than 1% of all gun-related homicides.

And yet you, as all Leftists brainwashed by the Communist Lamestream media and DemonRat overlords, are obsessed with banning AR-15 type semi-automatic rifles.

This is more evidence that the true motive of the communist Left is NOT to "save lives". Abortion is prime proof of that. Their true motive in banning guns (and specifically semi-automatic rifles) is to disarm the public in a way that they cannot resist a tyrannical government. And semi-automatic rifles are the type of weapon you need to resist a tyrannical government.

You can't debate/discuss someone that incessantly lies when he is proven wrong. He has no freaking clue what a damn AR-15 is without Googling it. You can read his replies when cornered that all he is doing is "cut, copy and pasting" answers he gets.

Zero credibility on any topic. Professional troll.

Freedom has costs and sometimes they can be tragic. In this case, freedom to carry benefited significantly. Let's be a free and sovereign society at all costs.

A 22-year old carrying stopped the potential mass shooting in Indiana. Do you guys realize that the text of the Second Amendment says that we have the right to not only own firearms, but to carry them (on our person)? That's what "bear" in "keep and bear arms" means. "Bear" = "carry".

Dickens challenge. Not sure people understand how impressive his shooting was.

I don't usually wish for huge financial settlements in civil / criminal court hearings, but there are some that deserve it….I hope Jones is put under the ground (financially) for his purposeful and hideous misleading of the public all to make a profit over the last years
I know we have our own Jones-stan here who believes the same things…I'd love to also see him have to get up on the stage in front of those he has claimed were "actors" all these years
