How in the world could anyone hate Debbie?

Some apparently do, though I cannot fathom why.

For starters, when she fired Lowe, Rick Barnes called inquiring about the job. She told him he was too old and hung up on him, then hired Gott the next day.

I have not read all the posts on all the threads, but the rumor that I am hearing is that we got scammed royally by Wade. Sold his house in Louisiana for $100 when he left McNeese State and purchased it back in late February of this year. Never planned to coach at State for more than one year. We got used by Wade….

$100 was a transfer fee someone said on socials. But cant wait when that house closes to see who the owner is.

My guess is Wade or someone very close to him

It looks to me that he put home in LLC/Trust in 2023 selling for $150 handled by the Olivier family. There have been Olivier family members living I that home since that time.

My guess is they did this to protect the home while NCAA trial was underway from being part of any punishment…look I have no assets.

The home was originally owned by Olivier family dating back to the 70s. The Olivier family run a Wealth Management firm (managing about 350M in assets) in BR and big donors to LSU.

Count me in this camp. It's not about the money nor even revenge. It's about knowing our self worth and not letting any coach, school, governor, AD from any school play us.

We're a two time national champion basketball program. Let's command that respect from others and ourselves.

We've become a program that is OK with getting the raw end of a political deal. Nobody is going to stop unless we make them.

The law of the jungle has a line about the wolf who breaks the law. I'm not suggesting anyone die, but we need some kind of enforcement action when we get deceived and potentially have handed this guy millions of our dollars and multiple basketball players' final year of their playing career for him to lie and tank our season and may careers.

This is the Law of the Jungle…the wolf that will break it must get sued

I agree. Corrigan's presser was a master class in portraying someone as a duplicitous, contemptible, lying, sleeze ball while giving fair warning to anyone who might be dumb enough in the future to ever consider employing or doing business with him in any way (save LSU). We ****ed up, and we must take measures to ensure something like this can never ever happen again.

For a guy that literally bought a house before the conference tournament and seems to have been working this for months while we've ponied up a record amount of fiscal support?

What do we owe fans who gave their money to NIL? What do we owe players whose last year in college was wasted by this guy's selfish actions? Fans who bought season tickets hoping to see someone committed to winning?

We look like a clown school now getting played - if you're worried about public perception, we're a bunch of suckers. This is about self worth and self perception. I don't care if we lose, but get in the arena and fight.

Enough is enough. Where is our line in the sand if not here?

I don't even remember the game thread but it was maybe Louisville when I got blasted for saying "just wait until he bolts for LSU end of season." I hated the idea of hiring him all the way back to March last year and didn't think we were dumb enough to do it. What he did to Merl Code and Christian Dawkins to save himself was disgusting. He's a slime bag.

Edited: Vern and Adam are complete opposite, great guys

Care to share any of the other stories you heard that had you turned off Wade from jump street? I could always use more reasons to hate this guy.

A lot of people stopped posting in the game threads when they realized what was going on. Sad times

The more I learn the more I'm genuinely surprised we didn't have 2-3 seniors quit the team and prepare for pros. They got lied to, thrown under the bus and blamed fir the crash out.

The only thing for certain that happens if we sue is the lawyers making money. I don't want to have to hear his name associated with ours for the year(s) something like that takes to get resolved. Also, Twitter sleuthing isn't the same as the standard in court, and just because things look questionable doesn't mean that is legal proof. So while I do think this was in the works for perhaps most of the season, , I don't think suing him right now is the play.

I do agree. If we move, we need to win. Can't jump into a fight without likelihood of winning. But let's look for that opportunity. Or publicly apologize to all our seniors who had their basketball careers tanked by this coach. Something that sends a strong ass message.

I wish it was that simple-it is tough first year with a roster that is turning over

Trying to prove he was pursuing another job is not that easy and proving it affected his performance is tougher.

Agree. If you sue not only does his name keep being associated with us, now the new coach is going to be asked questions and brought into the lawsuit as well. ( just how the media works ) Best thing to do is move on and Wade's name will only a thought for some State fans. Outside of our world, people have sort memories.

Agree. Nobody should be surprised Wade left and we are likely better off that he did. We chose to hire a guy like Wade and essentially agreed to a contract where it was easy to leave us after 1 year(or any future year). That is on the people who pushed/agreed to hire Wade.

We made a 1.5 million profit on the salary and buyout. A first year coach turned around the program in year 1 and made the tournament after we fired Keatts(who made the Final Four 2 years prior). Also, we didn't really miss out on anyone else that could have been hired last year(Schertz would have been more available, but not sure anyone would have wanted him then). I don't see any real negatives for us coming out of this.

DACWolf

Wade was never planning on being here in year 2.
Now, should NC State choose to do so...
100% breach of contract on Wades part
100% tampering with sitting head coach LSU
However, I believe NC State washes it's hands clean of Wade and moves on, as Wade is now virtually unhireable across the college basketball landscape via the court of public opinion. Anyone and everyone who cares knows the two listed infractions are a stone cold lock in reality, and that will most likely have to be enough...bottom line, he better preform at LSU because it's the final destination in his coaching career in P4

Why try if we're not going to fight? We're sending a signal to every tampering coach/ administration in all sports that you can do whatever you want to us and we will just role over.

I think UNC is scummy as is their approach to weaseling out of any real consequences for 5 counts of LOIC, but they were back in the bball national championship the very year they got hit with that report (2017) due to lawyering up. No real consequences were ever felt.

We were set back nearly a decade after being busted paying DSJ. We took that on the chin as well.

Clearly our "role over" approach is not working.

College athletics is not won on the field / court anymore.
It's a game of fundraising, legal maneuvering, media management / branding and finally, politics.

Hopefully we escape this era one day. But this is how the game is played today.
JocoPack
How long do you want to ignore this user?
unc also has many alum lawyers as well as connections in the media and politics. LSU has the damn governor in their pocket. I just don't think we would have the same kind of pull in a courtroom. Besides, the financial burden of dragging out a lawsuit to prove to the rest of college athletics what they already know (WW is pond scum) seems counterproductive given our financial situation.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to roll over either. But weighing the cost of litigation for however long doesn't sound fun either.
It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

If you let the bully punch you in the mouth and do nothing the bully will keep doing it. If State has concrete evidence that other stuff happened they need to absolutely sue. Considering how fast LSU backed down after their dwarf governor's tough talk about not paying the Kelly buyout...willing to bet LSU will settle during discovery/depositions.

Something to do with Wade texting James back and saying something along the lines of "let's see what happens". At least that's what I remember James saying on a Zoom
