Multiple sources have confirmed that NC State head coach Will Wade will leave after one season and accept the head coaching job at LSU, whenever it becomes available in the near future.

Wade posted a 20-14 record in his lone season at NC State, finishing 10-8 in the ACC with a loss to Texas in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament.

It's incredible to me how a guy with a personality can attract so many people like a cult . IF Herb Sendek had a shred of Wade's personality and ability to fool people he probably is still here .

Not calling WW a bad coach but what's transpired around him and the movements made for this guy do not match up with his actual coaching acumen.

IF that poor guy that used to coach Leonard Hamilton's teams looked like Tom Cruise and had a few quick one liners he would probably be in the HOF.

Yeah I call BS on that post. Debbie wanted Shaka. Unfortunately VCU went on a once in a lifetime run. We waited all through the tournament until after the final four. She also targeted Sean Miller. Rick Barnes was not part of that search... maybe Fowler screwed up with him years prior but I don't remember. When we whiffed on Miller and Shaka she panicked and had to go get out of work Gott. Which given the disaster that was at the time we actually did pretty well for a bit there.


Yes, DY wanted Shaka. She knew the Miller family would never work for her, the same reason Archie avoided State when she hired KK. Shaka was never really in play. Equal parts DY reputation and the reputation of State fans.


From what I recall, Sean was the first choice the Shaka year.


Sean was never coming here with DY in charge. I heard that first hand at the time.

The Joe's showed a tweet that was a screenshot of Zillow. Looks like Wade bought back his old house in Baton Rouge back in 23 Feb. our collapse at the end of the season wasn't just a quirk.

There is just no way this is what happened and has to be a huge coincidence.

No way they can be dumb enough to do this and have it be in his name etc

But we will find out soon enough when it closes and tax records update and then see who actually lives there

I would not be surprised to find that the buyer is an LLC or a trust. Could be difficult to know for sure unless you go to Baton Rouge, stake out the house, and see who's coming and going.

Not illegal but a breach of contract.

A second key clause is Section XIII.A.

Wade acknowledged that his commitment to work "the entire Term" was "essential" and "specifically promise[d] not to seek or apply for other men's basketball related employmentโ€ฆwithout first providing written notice to the Director of Athletics."

He also agreed to advise the AD "in writing" of "any inquiries or contacts" exploring his interest in other employment.

"Written notice" is separately defined in Section XVIII, so this is not a casual courtesyit's a formal contractual requirement.

NC State has an excellent case but almost zero chance it will proceed with a lawsuit. Take the $4m and turn the page, lawsuit would take at least 2 years maybe more risking the $4m for maybe an additional $2m including damages.

I don't even remember the game thread but it was maybe Louisville when I got blasted for saying "just wait until he bolts for LSU end of season." I hated the idea of hiring him all the way back to March last year and didn't think we were dumb enough to do it. What he did to Merl Code and Christian Dawkins to save himself was disgusting. He's a slime bag.
