Multiple sources have confirmed that NC State head coach Will Wade will leave after one season and accept the head coaching job at LSU, whenever it becomes available in the near future.

Wade posted a 20-14 record in his lone season at NC State, finishing 10-8 in the ACC with a loss to Texas in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament.

State fans realize we don't have the huge dollars to spend on players that Duke does and thus our smart fans aren't comparing ourselves to Duke every single day like they want people to believe .


I agree but I do think Wade thought he could come in a steal recruits from Duke and UNC. He got Val of course but the one that probably killed him was losing Rippey to Duke. He thought Slater's long connection with Rippey would help put State over the top. After that and not being able to get the tall foreign kid in mid year that went to Oklahoma, I think he realized this job and conference was a lot tougher than he imagined and he never thought again about staying here. He was all packed up for LSU.

I read somewhere that S&C coach, some training people, Wade's BF Vial were on the plane to LSU thursday. Adam Howard didn't go because he had the Troy job lined up. I think Chambers and Hamilton stayed behind. I think Hamilton will join Wade but not sure about Chambers. Slater definitely not going and I think Stacy isn't either.
