I got out of my seat twice during the Stanford game and walked the lower and upper concourses for about 10 or 15 minutes each time. I have never left my seats during a game, but I just couldn't take it anymore.

I'm not happy he's gone, but I am relieved. He threw our players under the bus nearly every game - even in winning situations!

Men, in general, react best to appreciation and respect. I don't remember that happening outside of the Darrion Williams defense with Joe Giglio.

I'm guessing Wade maybe told state he was happy with $, but I heard direct quotes from as close of a personal relationship to Wade as possible that he raised $ and Boo gave to WPC

Wait, you actually believe wade would tell the truth?

That may have applied prior to 2021 (and I never understood boo'ing the athletes in college). Now though, players that make $300k and above (which is probably every power 4 starter) will inevitably be torn to shreds in a meritocracy if they are no shows, much less if they are somewhat ineffective. And for guys making 7 figures, well good luck if you want to have your hand held if you no show or can't handle basic tasks of the "job role."

I stopped watching midseason. The Pack feasted on lesser teams and never beat a quality team. From the headlines it seemed to me that Wade blamed the players each time the team HE coached folded.

Quite honestly, I was surprised when the Pack made the tournament, even as a play-in team. Given the resources and the respect he had as a coach, I was surprised by the season. Even so, I was hopeful for the future. Now he's a footnote in NC State history, much like Press Maravich.

I think he'll be "successful," although he'll never win a conference championship much less a national championship. If the NCAA tourney is your goal, he's your man.

I'm glad he left before he brought shame to the university.

He already won a conference championship at LSU which is part of why they want him back.

On the Zoom call, Hendue mentioned he'd be posted a Candidate Board thread shortly.

It'll be interesting to see how folks react to some on the list.

Unlike the ACC I do believe the regular season championship is the conference champion for the SEC. Was that done before after or during the time he got caught cheating?

Listen, I can't fault a man for taking a job that clearly makes him happy. If I ever moved away from North Carolina and an old boss who I liked called me and said come back and work for me and you'll get a raise and some nice perks. I think every single one of us takes that deal.

With that being said, clearly this was in the works for months and the exit process was as unprofessional as you can get.

Wade is an enormous loser who cant coach, quits on his team and will never be successful in a world where everyone is paying players market price

I'm glad he's gone

With that said, we bought this act last year and knew what we were getting into. We just thought he would screw over other people for our benefit. This no time for woe is me, we got taken advantage of, State is cursed BS

You want to play with the big boys you go out and make a better hire and fund that guy more than you funded Wade and have him still playing this time next year, which is something Wade has never done (He cant coach - the one time his team made the Sweet 16 at LSU he was suspended)

Two things important for our fanbase that may be a little counterintuitive:

1) Do not let him and his camp perpetuate the myth that he didn't have the resources needed to compete. He got arguably the most sought after player in the portal and several other dudes that weren't cheap. There are a lot of coaches out there who could have delivered last season's results, if not better, with the resources in place. The man said himself he had everything needed to win big here and it was the best job he's ever had. DO NOT LET THE FALSE NARRATIVE GAIN OXYGEN when he's going back to a place that fired him and a short while ago would've said was a worse job and basketball situation than what we have in Raleigh.

2) it is also incumbent upon us to collectively step up and make sure that aforementioned myth becomes reality. If you care about this program and have the means to do so, we need to provide our financial support REGARDLESS of who the coach is. It won't make a big difference, but I plan on bumping my monthly payment directed to basketball.

Our program is so much bigger than one person, and NC State basketball will survive. Hell, less than two years ago many of us were packing our bags for Phoenix to watch a team in the Final Four that had comparatively fewer financial resources relative to the competition than we had last year with a coach who understandably was ultimately relieved of his duties.

We have a rich basketball tradition that we can continue to build on - and there are a lot of guys out there who can be successful in this job with our collective support.

Keatts made a Final Four with less than 3 million. I bet he could have gotten out of Dayton this year with 9.7. He would have also represented NC State with class for one more year.

Keatts had no revenue share. Rev share started this year. All schools had bigger budgets this year. So it is all relative. $3 Keatts last year equates to what Wade had this year except if any increase in NIL. Any increase in NIL would be credit to the coaching change.

No it does not equate. Duke was already spending a lot two years ago, so was UNC. Our rev share number was only 4 this year. So if Keatts had 2.7 and you add 4 that's 6.7. There is still a 3 million dollar gap that our big money donors came up with for Wade. I think Keatts could have done about the same THIS year with 9.7. Since we wasted a year with Wade, it was interesting to think about.

It compared to UVA, GT, VT, Etc. Keatts wasn't fired because of his results vs Duke and UNC. All schools had huge jumps in spending with revenue share staring this season. If Keatts won enough to retain his job, then he would have had a big increase in his budget as well with the $5 million(or whatever it was) in revenue sharing. That would have been added to NIL donations and the total would have been what he had to work with. But the same thing happened at all of our peers as well. All budgets increase 4-6 million with revenue share. So it is all relative.

I'm actually quite pleased it was after just one year. Would you rather invest another two or three years to have him leave or ASAP. It's like losing that hot girlfriend, with a bad attitude, you wined and dined who was never going to work out. Better to get back in the arena while you still have money.

but why would they increase his resources? That isn't what was in his contract and he just went 13-19. Bold of him to want more resources when the prior year he lost in R64.
