Multiple sources have confirmed that NC State head coach Will Wade will leave after one season and accept the head coaching job at LSU, whenever it becomes available in the near future.

Wade posted a 20-14 record in his lone season at NC State, finishing 10-8 in the ACC with a loss to Texas in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament.

I have no problem hugging men in my life, such as my sons, Dad and closest friends, affectionately - and there's nothing wrong with that.

This looks like a guy who has been so beaten down, he just needed the embrace of one of his people. Nothing wrong with that, but it's proof he was never our guy, wasn't cut out to be the coach of a tradition-rich big-time college basketball program in the hottest bed of the sport, and is returning to his safe place.

Better days are ahead for Wolfpack basketball.

I've said it a few times but I'd seriously find a place on staff for McMahon just to be a thorn in WW's side. Negatively recruit against him to every kid Wade goes after, do anything you can to make his life more difficult.

Joe wears his heart on his sleeve and calls what he sees. I don't think he's ever really trying to play games, just gets emotional in emotional moments. He's definitely one of us, and I've always hated why State fans have to pick sides between their own. Will Wade is fake tough. Teams are a reflection of their coach. This team was soft. Despite what he may say in his post games (which I always found over the top and embarrassing), the way he has handled this departure shows me that this team's softness was a direct reflection of their coach. He said before the season he had everything he needed and if he didn't deliver, it would fall on him. And yet he blamed the roster that he assembled every step of the way.

Will Wade is fake smart. He throws around analytics like he is the smartest guy in the room, but analytics without context don't mean ***** For example, he said their analytics told them Arceneaux was one of the greatest defenders in Big 12 history. But that does not account for the system Arc was playing in. Houston runs a unique defensive system that consistently produces top defenses (and is very different than what we ran). To believe this was going to be a simple copy/paste into a different system and get the same results was a flawed use of analytics.

If WW truly understood his analytics and he cared about winning, he would have adjusted his style of play. Our offense found success shooting 3's. It would seem if that's the case then you would want to marry your offense with your defense in an attempt to win the 3 point battle each night. But instead we were content over helping in the paint and giving up open/poorly contested 3's. The defensive execution was trash and the philosophy did not match what we were doing on offense. It was not complimentary basketball and an adjustment was never made (I won't count going zone as an adjustment, because what does zone allow? Open 3's).

Lastly, DW got a ton of hate this year, but I believe a lot of this hate should be directed towards how he was used. We should have spammed Q + DW pick and pops. We should have spammed DW inverted pick and rolls. And yet so many offensive possessions were Q tying to iso get to the rim/get in the paint and make a play, or DW iso 3's or post ups. Q + DW + McNeil + Val. That's FOUR very unique offensive skill sets, and yet so many possessions resulted in iso attempts. I thought the offense lacked creativity and I thought the use of our skill guys lacked creativity.

We can, and will, do better.

Now that we are a day removed I'm not even mad anymore. I think Wade has legitimate mental issues. He doesn't seem to process or even weigh the consequences of his actions and words. What transpired over the last month is not something a mentally sane person could endure.

A good friend of mine (a big Alabama fan) told me a year ago that we would regret hiring him. Having seen him in action in the SEC, he described him as toxic, unstable, unhinged, unpredictable and lacking of any moral character whatsoever. We are both men of faith, and I said perhaps he really has changed. My friend said he hoped so for our sake.

Fast forward to the first few games when he went ape sh*t on the sidelines garnering multiple technicals...and to the press conferences when he exploded at reporters, threw players under the bus, and even failed to show even a glimmer of respect, decency and appreciation for his outgoing players sitting next to him at that final post-game press conference...and each time my friend would just give me the head nod and raised eyebrows as if to say, I told you so.

After yesterday's events, my friend reached out to me and instead of saying 'I told you so', he said 'Just remember, you are better off without him'. Reassuring and comforting words from a good friend!

You're in all likelihood correct, but maybe they should speak out. They certainly have the gravitas to do so and while it's personal to us, imo it's a stain on the coaching profession and pariahs like WW need to be called out by their peers.
