If some of these maniac mentally challenged people want to hurt somebody, they do not need a gun. Look at the idiot in Wisconsin who ran his car through a Christmas parade or Timothy McVeigh in Oklahoma City. If you are denied getting firearms, there are numerous ways to hurt people. Just the other day in Vancouver, BC a guy was stabbed to death at a Starbucks and everybody stood by and watched it happen.

It's not the guns, it's the people.

Other than some wacko far left group, who is excusing this?
I frankly don't care if the shooter is a far right nut or a far left nut. In both cases, they are getting guns that everyone says they shouldn't have had
But who is making changes to ensure they don't?

Dude you'll never stop anyone from getting a gun. There's no law you could pass that would keep idiots hell bent on this kind of carnage from getting one.

I'm all for having thorough background checks on every gun purchased but it'll never stop these idiots.

Quite frankly, your hyperbole is part of the problem. It's not easier to get a gun than it is to get treatment for anxiety, depression, etc. Maybe your family has a harder time with the treatment prescribed but treatment is readily available, arguably over available if you look at numbers of people on anxiety medicine.
I can go buy a guy tomorrow. Pay for it, go through the background check and within 3-5 days I'm good. In 2018 my wife waited 18 days to get the OK to get treatment for depression. 18 days. You know what got her treatment? She told the doctors she wanted to hurt herself or others. Bam! Treatment approved. And that with BCBS of NC

Sorry. But that's not the whole story. I don't care to delve into your wife's medical history, but guessing your situation would better compare to purchasing a pistol in Durham. "Treatment" is readily available.
Tell that to my daughter that had to wait to get treatment in Durham. They ended up locking her up in the old Durham Regional Hospital and she saw a Doctor twice in 12 days.

It cost me $2400 out of pocket for two 12 day stays at Triangle Springs. Another $8,000 for what wasn't covered by insurance. $120 a month since December 2018 for therapy plus $180 for meds since that time. I can buy a Glock G34 for less than $800.

I edited my post to clarify my point a bit more.

You'll get no argument from me on medical costs. I recently had an ER visit that cost me thousands that they wanted me to pay for up front before any treatment WITH me having insurance. Also waited over 10 hours. Also watched the crackheads with no insurance go ahead of me that won't pay a dime.

That doesn't mean a glock should cost more.
When you have insurance the medical field sees $$$$$$.

If anything the insurance companies are the ones to blame. Case in point.... auto insurance. You pay in for decades... you hit a deer. You have to pay out the ass if your car is totaled and paid for.

We had a 2014 Ford Explorer Sport... paid over $45k for it. It was totaled by a rear end collusion by an un-insured driver. We had uninsured driver coverage.

It was 2 years old. They gave us $18k for it. It was paid off. We lost the money we had spent to pay it off. Would have been better to finance the hell out of it in that situation.

You go uninsured you get the King's treatment these days. No ramifications and those of us who try and do things the right way are shoved aside because of our "privilege."

No. But they are not trying to fundamentally change America. Sleepy Joe ran on that. So did Dear Leader.

When you use that as your platform I have to say that is not what our Founding Father's idea of America was or is.

And they have already told you for the past16 years that is what they intend to do. They envision America as a Socialist/Marxist Global entity.

What changes to the Constitution have the GOP candidates ran on?

They could have abolished the filibuster and federalized elections and expanded the SCOTUS in President Trump's first two years easily but they didn't.

The GOP does NOT want to fundamentally change this country. One party does and they have been running on that since 2008. FACT.

Post your stats.

Also "kids" in those statistics are "kids up to 25 years old."

Now... why don't you dig in on what demographic is losing "kids" 14 - 25 years old and list their race.

Subtract the deaths of black on black crime and black on other races crime and compare the statistics to the other countries in the world on that one. It's a cultural issue that exists in the black community that no one wants to address.

You won't. Neither will your party.

The only answer you and the rest of the blindly following sheep that slurp up every statistic that the MSM espouses is to take away Constitutional Rights to obtain absolute power.

Your entire party's platform since 2008 is "fundamentally changing America."

For who? The left. The global world your party envisions. And it's not a conspiracy theory. It's a fact.

Now post you statistics. I'll hang up and listen.

Here's a theory.....

We may as well get as much as we can so when we are forced to sit down and negotiate sensible terms we can counter what the left wants to do.

Abolish the 2nd amendment.

You can't negotiate from a standpoint of weakness. It's like playing poker. You need chips to have a fighting chance.

Again, the left has made it perfectly clear. They want gun confiscation and to do away with ALL semi-automatic firearms.

That my friend is why it is a good idea.

Here's the link to the House Bill to add Puerto Rico as a state that passed.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/8393

Now.. .keep in mind... the Senate needs one more vote to overcome the Manchin/Sinema votes to keep the filibuster in place.

Saying that the posts that I have made are meaningless because they haven't come up for vote is moot.

The minute, God forbid, the left run Senate obtains another vote to cancel out Manchin and Sinema then you will see exactly what they have been telling us.

You know it. You are intelligent. If the left keeps the White House, picks up another seat in the Senate and takes the House back.... we are under single party rule.

That my friend is a fact and if you look deep inside yourself and be honest you and every other left leaning person knows it.

I really don't have an issue with Puerto Rico becoming a state. The right does because they believe it will give the dems 2 more senate seats and more house seats. They already have representation in Congress.

I also have no issue with voter ID and keeping the SCOTUS as it is

That's fine. But the rest of your party wants to abolish voter ID...And you full well know they want to expand the SCOTUS to "return balance" to the court.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/democrats-introduce-bill-expand-supreme-court-9-13-justices-n1264132

https://www.npr.org/2021/04/15/987723528/democrats-unveil-long-shot-plan-to-expand-size-of-supreme-court-from-9-to-13

https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/15/politics/elizabeth-warren-expand-supreme-court/index.html

Hell... some cities even allow illegal immigrants to vote.

In 5 days the State Supreme Court of Wisconsin is holding a vote to determine control. If the left wins they will abolish voter ID and redraw districts to eliminate at least three or four GOP leaning seats.

Gerrymandering at it's best.

They have told the voters exactly what they are going to do. Ballot harvesting, no voter ID, no limit abortion etc....

That, whether you like it or not, is what the party you voted for aspires this country to be.

Again, you can vote however you want on the issues but know if you only vote for one you are also getting the other 99 out of 100 when you check that box.

I did not mention any statistics. You are making stuff up as you go. If people want to hurt you they can find a way.

The 2nd Amendment gives every American citizen the right to defend themselves and SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. The shooter in Nashville bought all her guns legally. She wanted to be male although that can never happen, so apparently she had some mental disorders and wanted to hurt people and she did. It's a tragedy for the parents and families who have to deal with her mental breakdown, but fortunately she won't be hurting anybody else.

No other countries have a Constitution like we do. Probably many of those countries you are referring to also have taken the guns away. You give up your guns you give up your freedom. If you choose not to own a gun that is perfectly alright. Freedom is a great thing. Just hope you don't get in a situation when you need a good guy or girl with a gun to protect you and your family.

Quit making schools Gun Free Zones. They are unfortunately sitting ducks and that is on the adults. The children, unfortunately have to bear the brunt of stupid decisions like Gun Free Zones.

It's not AR-15's, AK-47's, "assault rifles," etc.. that they are coming for. They are coming for ALL of the firearms that they deem "scary."

Here's what I'll say about this BBW. I agree with you here. There has been a weird response in the media where the narrative of these stories is almost that this shooting was justified for political reasons. It is an incredibly wrong argument excusing acts of violence on children.

So we look our kids in the eye and say "too bad, it's just a consequence of being an American"?
Is that where we are?
No one here or anywhere is saying that and this is why no one wants to even bother responding to you and I knew better myself.
Actually, Chem is asking a reasonable question?

Trans-genders
Pronouns
And the list can continue

That's right (insert your son or daughter), it's just the consequences of being an American!

I really don't have an issue with Puerto Rico becoming a state. The right does because they believe it will give the dems 2 more senate seats and more house seats. They already have representation in Congress.

I also have no issue with voter ID and keeping the SCOTUS as it is
Actually, it's the left that complains about colonization, they should be freeing Puerto Rico, not getting it more attached…

Don't expect any feedback from Comrade Chem.... He's a "hit and run" lefty....

And... here's something for everyone to ponder. The left NEVER defines the parameters of their ultimate agenda. Imagine being able to obfuscate a direct question and have the MSM spin it to one party's advantage on a daily basis.

This is why you NEVER give the left an inch. They will take it, run with it and next thing you know you are one Senator away from single party rule.

It's not AR-15's, AK-47's, "assault rifles," etc.. that they are coming for. They are coming for ALL of the firearms that they deem "scary."

The Constitution is nothing but a piece of paper to those people. Sorry.... it's being proven every single day. When you allow illegal aliens to vote in American elections where is the line you are not willing to cross? They don't have one.

Anybody that thinks this person is an acceptable person, in our Federal Government, is an IDIOT!!

He is supposed to know a little about the dangers from Mexico. If he actually did he'd know that Mexico has some of the strictest gun ownership laws in the western hemisphere. About 1% of Mexico's population owns a gun. The only rifle allowed to be owned by the mass population is a single shot bolt action .22. Yet Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries in the world will drug cartels and gangs owning fully automatic weapons including belt fed machine guns. How many of you would feel safe to travel in Mexico?

What is the murder rate in Mexico? About 20 per 100,000 people. It is around 7 or 8 per 100,000 here in the US.

Is there mass murder there........oh yeah........there is;.it's the line em' up and execute the unarmed peasant or tourist type.

Yet the stats 100% disagree with you. America has by far the most guns and by far the most kids killed by them.

So it's your perspective that social media, tv violence, urban crowding, poverty, etc only influence Americans?
Other nations which have far less death by guns just handle all those things better!

From my earlier post:
For the US

And compared to other large / wealthy countries

https://www.kff.org/global-health-policy/issue-brief/child-and-teen-firearm-mortality-in-the-u-s-and-peer-countries/

Clearly, we are the only country with bad people in it

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/12/14/magazine/gun-violence-children-data-statistics.html

I'd say children (amd innocent by standing adults) have to pay the price of a woefully insincere effort by the gun industry to keep guns away from bad people
