The Wolfpack picked up another conference win Sunday afternoon. NC State bounced back and defeated Boston College 5-2 from the Weymouth Tennis Center.

After falling on Friday to Syracuse with a 3-0 advantage, the Wolfpack made sure not to repeat that outcome, as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead after doubles and won three straight singles matches to secure the match.

NC State worked quickly and efficiently as three of the four singles wins came in straight sets, beginning with Gina Dittmann on court four with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Tola Glowacka. Dittmann now moves to 4-0 this season on court four.

Sophomore Anna Zyryanova followed on court three with a 6-2, 6-1 win to put the Pack one point away from clinching the match. The clinching point came from senior and No. 3 Amelia Rajecki, who defeated No. 95 Maria Aguiar 6-1, 7-5 on court one in the only ranked matchup of the day.

Despite falling on courts five and six, the Wolfpack swept the first four courts. In the only three-set match, Abigail Rencheli came from a set down to win the second set and the third set tiebreaker 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8).

The Wolfpack returns home for a massive showdown with two in-state foes this weekend. A rematch of last year's national Championship will take place at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on Friday, March 22, at 4 p.m. Duke will come to Raleigh on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m.

A trio of ranked North Carolina teams will converge on the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center this weekend as the No. 14 Wolfpack gets set to welcome No. 6 UNC and No. 23 Duke for a weekend of high-level tennis.

Both matches will be streamed, (vs. UNC), (vs. Duke) and fans can follow the Live results HERE! Wolfpack faithful can secure a parking permit for the match with North Carolina by following these INSTRUCTIONS.

The weekend starts on March 22 at 4 p.m. when NC State and UNC meet for the second time this season. In the first matchup of the year, the Wolfpack defeated the Tar Heels, then the number-one ranked team in the country, in the quarterfinals of the ITA Indoor Championships.

Duke will come to town on Sunday, March 24, with first serve set for 2 p.m. The Wolfpack will be looking for their first win against the Blue Devils since 2021, with the last three meetings all being decided by one point.

Wow, I went to the match but left after we lost the doubles point. That's now 3 wins in the last 4 matches versus unc. Quite the turnaround in the series, as that's only the 4th win in the last 28 meetings going back to 1999.

I don't know what to make of that loss last week to Syracuse, since I didn't watch it. Hopefully just our one bad loss of the season.

Big home match against Duke in two days, Sunday at 2pm. Looks like it should be beautiful weather, so look forward to a great day of tennis at the outdoor stadium. We haven't beat Duke since 2021 (which is wild since we've beat unc 3 times over the last 2 years). Really want to get this win over them.

Once again, in a battle of in-state rivals, it came down to the last match on the last court. Freshman Maddy Zampardo won a thrilling three-set match to help push NC State (15-4, 5-1) past UNC for the second time this season 4-3 from the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.

In a match that lasted five hours and moved inside after the weather had paused play on the outside courts, the Wolfpack once again battled back from dropping the doubles point to win four singles matches and earn the win. The victory moves NC State 11-0 when playing on the home courts.

With the score 2-0 in favor of the visiting Tar Heels No. 5, Amelia Rajecki got the Pack on the board with a straight-set victory 6-4, 7-5. Fellow senior Gina Dittmann evened the match with a ranked win over No. 37 Carson Tanguilig (NC) 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

UNC got within a point of victory with a win on court five but on court three, No. 43 Anna Zyryanova fought back from a set down to win two straight sets and even the match at 3-3.

Zampardo had cruised in her first set against Tatum Evans 6-1, but Evans evened things up in the second set, winning 6-4. In the third and decisive set, Zampardo jumped out to a lead and never looked back, eventually securing the match with an ace out wide at a 5-4 deuce.

It was North Carolina's first conference loss of the season. In the last four meetings, the Wolfpack is 3-1 against the Tar Heels. Before last season, the Wolfpack had only beaten UNC once since 1998.

The Wolfpack will prepare to face another Triangle Area opponent when Duke comes to Raleigh on March 24 at 2 p.m. from the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
