I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Totally agree. Like many on this board, been watching Avent for 20+ years. Have always thought he sticks with his pitchers a batter or inning too long.

Always seen him as more of a "Jimmy and Joe" than X's and O's guy. When he's got Uber talented guys like Dudan, he has a margin for error.

NC State has four arms that it will rely on this evening. That means ideally they would only use three of them and have the last one for an emergency. Whit had his chance in the fifth, he gave up a couple of hits, he got pulled. The decisions made were fine. Kids have to produce too.

NC State does a fantastic job of prepping for pitching change. Group meeting to the mound, followed by pitching coach meeting. In this case, NCSU also wisely used a challenge to get its arm ready.

If the Wolfpack loses, it will be because they stop hitting.

This "Jimmy and Joe's" coach has State 12 outs from Omaha and a top 10 team with most statistics ranking 60 and above.

EA is coaching his ass off this year
